I use chrome when I'm surfing and researching, but need Mozilla to do stuff for school and other things that chrome doesn't support. I have eset smart security, pc optiizmer pro, and malwarebytes so it's not an infection problem. Is it just me? Any tweaks you guys have found to stabilize mozilla?

Wow, I'm on Mac and was wondering if there was something wrong with my computer. I have the same type of problem ALL the time so I don't think it is your PC.

    THAT's what she said! :D

But, really, it's the ADD-ons, session states, and all the stuff that comes EXTRA. If you have more tabs, then that adds to it, too.

    Chrome > Firefox

Made the switch and never found myself missing the addons.

I've been having problems with Firefox on my Mac at home too. It hangs from time to time ... and it won't display facebook properly, and sometimes it just flat out won't connect to gmail when I try to log in. I get the "restricted access" message or whatever.

I downloaded Onyx and clearing the browser cache, history, etc. works temporarily, but it's like the next time I try after closing the browser it happens again.

The only problem I have with Firefox is that after awhile it EATS up memory. I have to remind myself to restart Firefox every hour.. Yes it might be a hassle but it still is faster than IE... Firefox has been having the memory problem since Version 1.

i don't know what the hell everyone is running.. i have about 9 tabs open at a time, running on Vista on an average 1 year old laptop, and I keep Firefox open for weeks at a time. I don't have any issues with freezing or anything that you're describing here. Maybe once a month I'll get an error, and it requires me to restart firefox...but it restores all my tabs to where they were. Not a huge deal.

I uninstalled 3.5.3 and reinstalled my previous version. Works like a charm now. I think they just need to get some bugs worked out of 3.5.3.

from time to time it gets funky and starts not responding to clicks, Ive disabled a few addons and it seems to help. I normally keep anywhere from 12-15 tabs open, but that doesn't seem to be causing the problems.

I disabled xmarks, skype extension and download helper and it hasn't acted up since.

This has been happening to me on both home and work. 5+ tabs freeze it. Flash games slow it down as well. Playing mafia wars will also make it a pain.

Both rigs have dual core processors.

The thing is I don't have these issues when I use FF2 on a virtual machine.

I really would ditch it for Chrome if Chrome had a Firebug equivalent.

I stopped using Firefox altogether on my laptop...HUGE memory hog (even with an optimizer), has trouble with multiple scripts, and is way too slow.

me too. At first I was all worried about not having my addons.....but in the end. I had so many problems with my firefox because of the addons, I LOVE Chrome now.

    So clean looking.
