if yall didn't notice the NBA is not a yahoo fantasy league. you cant just throw out 3 crapster players to get one good player. i know its fun imagining what kind of team the rockets could have if other GMs made terrible trades and decided to be kind to us and give away good players for our crappy ones, but that doesn't happen very often. stop with the insane trades like getting gasol from the grizz for mooch and kt or whatever or getting mike miller from the magic for kt.
hey...they aren't always trades. Sometimes they are just rumors to get Tinsley and tell Steve Francis to move to Shooting Guard. Well, maybe not even that. Sometimes they are just frustrated fans venting with no other way to express themselves intelligently.
The crowd is fickle ... honestly that's what's wrong with this forum. People slopping down non-coherent sentences about awesome trades. This is my favorite example: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46504 One day you have posts about how mobley sucks and is a cancer to this team, then all of a sudden he has a good game and everyone is his best friend. Oh, and I also like when that post came up about francis averaging 3 TO's a game (the same as Jason Kidd "the greatest PG in the world") and everyone came spouting off how he wasnt a good PG. You expect these players to be perfect or something. Basketball players never have bad games, they always have to hit 100% of their shots and average triple doubles with no turnovers. And if they falter we trade them off for a tuna fish sandwich.
ooh oooh ooh another one. Last week Eddie was basically deemed untouchable. Now we have guys trying to trade him for Stromile Swift .... right.
I think the time has come for Clutch to create a TRADE section and keep this one legit....unless of course a trade actually happens.
Because there are not enough minutes to keep everyone happy. Unless someone gets injured someones gotta go.
Who cares about "keeping everyone happy"? What NBA player does NOT want to start? They all do. If they can't deal with being a role player, well, tough ****. That's just the way it is. In the best case scenario Rudy wants to play 7-8 players MAX. He's stated that many times on his radio show. If we trade a player what makes you think the player coming to Houston would be any happier sitting on our bench? Nonsense.
So Griffin getting 0 minutes is ok then. Any trade the Rockets should make will have to be a 3 for 1 type deal where we get rid of multiple players for 1 better one. Otherwise you right and those players will not be happy getting no PT either.
ok well how about MoT, KT, EG, and moochie justify why they should get more playing time? obviously if they were playing good, like cato, then they would be playing and they wouldnt be all pissy about not playing. if KT wants to whine about his playing time then he should start ripping down some more boards. i think if they are mad about playing time then they are just mad at themselves for playing like crap and it their way of showing it. and why should we even give a damn if they aren't happy about their playing time...BOOHOO! you don't get charity playing time...if EG gets 0 minutes then its for a reason. also what you said about someone getting injured was right...we need them for depth in case someone does go down. if they want their role to be bigger than that on the team then they should demonstrate how they feel on the court and not with their words. also for the 3 for 1 thing....refer to what i originally posted.
There are a lot of trade proposals because fans think there is something that we can improve. Fans think there's something wrong with our mix and direction. They want to change that - add complementary parts to lead the team toward the kind of play they favor. You can deconstruct any trade to see what the fan has in mind for the team. Right now, the team is unimpressive and doesn't seem to mix well - thus the load of trade spec. If Rudy unequivocably showed the best use of each player, it wouldn't be a point of speculation any more. Everyone would know what to do with our parts - each man could play his role. That's not the case. Everything's mud. It's impossible to tell what's best for the team. I think Rudy wants the players to sort it out for themselves, but that's lazy and lacks vision, in my opinion. You need perpescuity to find a diamond and polish it. If you just keep shoveling dirt and hope something shiny comes up, you're apt to treat to big lump of coal the same as money. This will sort itself out, if Rudy has a vision of what he wants, and seeks to develop or acquire the players to make it happen. IF Rudy just rides what he's got, and let's the players try to fight out their different agendas for what they think is best, fans are going to continue to blow a gasket with every miscommunication and mis-application of talent, and demand heads roll in speculatative trades. Fans want direction, a plan, and effort. Sometimes, it seems we don't know who to play, how to play them, or if they'll play together. Presto, trade-a-rama.
You think a trade is going to help? We have the peices...it's just finding the right combo on the floor. People around here like to think chemistry is not a big deal but it is...chemistry on the floor that is. All of the guys get along in the locker room...that's well documented. Trade speculation has it's place: on bad radio talk shows.
hmmm...im realizing from this thread that senior members can spew as much bunk as junior members. first...i don't think rudy is just "lazy" and doesn't try to make the best use of the players. its kind of absurd to just call him lazy because players are shooting poorly and missing wide open shots. should we blame rudy for poor free throw shooting in the clutch? the rockets missed a lot down the stretch last game even though we won. yes a trade sounds very logical and it sounds even more logical to just call rudy lazy. good point second...if rudy is lazy and is misusing talent and has no clue what he is doing then why aren't there more posts asking to fire rudy and get a better coach?
