Why does everyone hate SportsCenter? Oh, maybe this is why...

Did anyone catch the Top Ten Game 7s on primetime SportsCenter last night? Knicks vs. Rockets was #9. Then, after midnight, they replaced it with a World Series game.

    More fuel for the fire.

I can't blame them, that game wasn't all that memorable to people besides us. It was close, but not down to the wire close, and nobody really had a transcendantly brilliant game or memorable moment.

I disagree, it was a battle between two HOF centers, New York's first Finals in almost 20 years. Houston's first championship series PERIOD and it's the last time an NBA Finals has gone 7 games and only the 2nd time since 1988 that an NBA Finals has gone 7 games.

Uh...The Rockets played in the Finals in both 1981 and 1986.

GREAT arguement...I think they should replay the Tape of Bill Walton apologizing to Houston fans for his un-disguised hate of our team! That was 1994 as well right?

That's all well and good, but that particular game, it's among the top 10 game sevens of all time in Hockey, Baseball and Basketball? There really wan't too much about that particular game that did anything for me. I mean I remember the key shots, because I'm a hardcore rockets fan. But no particular plays or moments would stand out to the average sports fan, IMO, and like I said, it didn't go down to the last shot or anything.

As far as excitement, drama, etc goes, I would rank game 7 v. Phx the next year(kiss of death) much much higher. Hell, I would also rank that Blazers-Lakers tilt in the WCF ahead of it a few years back

Come to think of it, though, I can think of many more memorable game 6's than game 7's, perhaps because there were more of them, such as Michael's Finals winners against the Jazz (2x) and the Suns, that Celtics-Suns epic battle (I thnk it was six) the 86 mets astros, 86 mets red sox, game 6 v. NY in 94, and even that loss to Utah in 97 in 6 was memorable, though painfully so.

If NY had won it would be No. 1 all-time.

That's why the D'Backs-Yankees game was #2. Get a clue.

I'm glad someone else noticed that.

I was SO pissed when I saw a replay of sportscenter that night and they took it off.

I was pissed enough that it only made #9!

That might not have been the greatest game 7 ever (no buzzer beater, no underdogs) but it was one of the greatest series of all time. The matchups, the struggles, the celebration, it was timeless.

Jordan didn't make the winner in game 6 vs the Suns, it was Paxson. Suns were up 2, Ainge went to double Pippen in the paint and Paxson had a wide open 3. If Ainge stays home on Paxson, the game either goes to overtime or belongs to the Suns forcing a game 7. The first threepeat could very well have been stopped and Barkley gets his ring.

    gimme a break.

The 9th slot was a good place for the 94 Game 7. It was a decent game 7, but nothing breathtaking if you are not a Rockets fan.

Quit crying about the lack of respect, who cares.
