Charvo always says that Yao Ming will play for the Golden State Warriors after his rookie contract is up with the rockets. Charvo, you must be from Oakland and want Yao that bad. Every single thread Charvo states that Warriors cleared cap space by moving Jamison so they can afford Yao. I don't think any of this is true. Yao Ming will resign with the rockets.

I think Rox should bring back Hakeem, Charles, Kenny and trade for Cassell, also Rudy. I am tired of JVG's offense who gives you around 75-80 points a game.

Golden State Warriors play in an area which is very accomdating to Yao from a demographic point of view. Warriors might get sellouts every night with Yao on their team. Of course, this changes if some other Chinese basketball player were to capture the fascination of Chinese basketball fans. Look at the Warriors payroll after 2005-2006. Jamison and Fortson were dumped for essentially an aging veteran in Nick Van Exel. I can understand Fortson. However, Jamison was supposed to be their franchise player.

Yao can go anywhere he wants and get a max contract not because of his talent but because of the economic benefits that happen from having him on the team. His salary is not even a concern to the owner of whatever team has him. The revenues received from having him on the team will pay his salary and much more.

I said Golden State is going to go after him. It's up to Yao. This is why I suggested that the Rockets trade Yao if they believe he will leave after the contractual obligations are up with the Rockets. They can get a lot from the Warriors.

We were discussing this in the toughen yao thread. Yao for Dampier and 2 #1 picks is appears to be the consensus deal. GS would probably want to give us Dunleavy, but if we stick to our guns, I think we can get dampier.

I think Dampier will be great as long as he does not have injury problems. I am pretty sure Dampier has been averaging double-double for his career just like he does this year. Can anybody check the stats here?

I don't know. Ask him. BTW, do you have an anger managment problem, or just a lack-of-control problem? I'll ask your wife.

This is the 2nd time I've seen somebody pimp this hoops hype site. I've never heard of it, is it new? I wonder how many more mentions of it on this board there are?

    1. Yao doesn't like to be where there's a lot of Chinese fans, he's a private person. I think he've said something close to that in several interviews. Houston to me is a the best fit because we do have a vibrant Chinese community and and pretty good Chinatown without it being over bearing. Visit the China town in San Fransico and New York, great places to vacation but I wouldn't live there.

    2. The max contract Yao can sign with us will be bigger than any contract he can sign with any other team because of the CBA. I think the only way he can get the true 'max' is if the Rockets do a sign and trade with him.

    3. Golden state doesn't have anything we want, the trade I proposed with Denver was much better and I got totally bashed for it. But it's something I would do reluctantly but I believe to be a fair trade.

    4. They were happy to be rid of Jamison because they realized he's getting the max money and he can't carry a team to a winning record. He's coming off the bench behind Toine for goodness sakes. Say what you will about Francis, he lead us to 45 and 43 victories which would've been pretty good accomplishment for a 2nd or fourth if the west wasn't so freaking stacked.

Hear, hear. 2 threads on the main page where the titles are all in caps and are useless and pointless threads.

Did anyone read that blurb in Sunday's sport section that said NBA owners were considering the removal of the luxury tax? If that happens, then holding on to YM just became tougher.

And why wouldn't YM want to play in GS? If the Warriors can promise a team completely built around him, and in Houston he's not getting the help he needs, he'd be foolish not to consider it.

It's not out of the realm of possibility.
