If this has been discussed, please lock accordingly. Calvin gives Tmac the blues on his daily program. It appears as if Tmac got Calvin fired instead of Calvin getting himself fired. Also Calvin acts as if Steve is his son and can replace Tmac in the lineup. I do love the fact that Calvin tells it like it is from his world when it comes to the Rockets.
He actually said that T-Mac purposely wanted to make Shane look bad in the Lakers game by passing the ball to him with the clock winding down, and that he was "jealous" that Shane hit the shot. He said that when T-Mac plays the forward position, he's merely "average". The funny thing is he constantly hates on JVG as well. I wonder who he credits for keeping the Rockets afloat last year when Yao got injured.
Um...... what????? That made absolutely no sense. I've ragged on McGrady a bit for ballhogging or whatever but that sounds too ridiculous to be true.
Geez. And to think I actually had some shred of respect left for this guy. I guess it's a good thing I never listen to his show after all.
I think it was two nights ago that he was really going hard against RA for not playing Francis. He said Francis was a great player and the other guy on the show said "That was like 5 years ago" and Calvin freaked out on him and said something along the lines of Francis being even better with maturity. They had a pretty lengthy debate with the other guy sounding like a knowledgeable basketball fan and Calvin sounding like an ignorant ex-athlete.
That's true, he kills JVG and acts as if we we're in the lotto every year JVG was here. Calvin thinks he can coach the Rockets to a better record than anyone. He loves Rudy, Yao, Shane, Deke, Mike J, and Steve to death. Hates, Tmac and Luther. Only thing he doesn't like about Rafer is his jumper, which is flat out horrible.
Yep it's true.. little C said that. I heard that show and he's been trying to call T-Mac out, saying he's not a real superstar
it's a pretty good show if you can stand Calvin yelling at the top of his lungs.. it's funny to hear him and the other 2 guys go at it.. i think they do it on purpose just to get him riled up... varying opinions and content makes for a good drive home
I listened to the show once and was waiting for someone to tell him to back away from the mic if he's going to yell the whole time he's on the air. Good lord.
I don't think Calvin is an ignorant ex-athlete. He's just very loyal to Steve, and he is blinded by that loyalty. I heard part of his show the other day, and it was pretty obvious. I didn't know he said that stuff about T-Mac. That's crazy if true.
It's cause Steve bought his camp or whatever a bus, so Calvin will be greatful to him for it. Until McGrady provides shoes to his camp, Murph will trash him. I try to listen to his show, but it's real hard. I love him doing color with Bill, but his radio show is just too hard. He's our local screaming stephen a smith.
I listen to his show, because it's mostly Rockets talk (a rarity with Houston sports talk shows, it seems). And, even though Murph says some dumb things, I think he's very entertaining. Like Charles Barkley on TNT. The difference between Calvin and Steven A. Smith -- Calvin isn't really angry when he yells/argues. He's kind of chuckling while he does it. Steve A. is just an angry individual. Yesterday, Calvin was talking about how T-Mac needed to defer to Yao like he used to with Moses Malone. I almost wanted to phone in and say: "Calvin, Yao is no Moses. And, you know what else? You're no T-Mac!"
Well i do see where Calvin is coming from. We were tied at the end of the game.Tmac was on top of the arc, a player with a killer instinct (kobe or playoff/13 in 35 tmac) would have takin that shot over whoever was guarding him. Tmac knew if he took that shot and missed he would of been called something like a "choker" by the media/clutchfans... He might of though it was better not to risk it since we were already tied. By passing it to battier, the fans or media wouldnt have been so hard on a missed shot in a tied game, and tmac would of still looked good if battier missed or swished it. keep in mind he was already having a "bad" shooting night with a few airballs.
