Ok - I know we have a lot of believers, and coming to be belivers here at the bbs. But those of you who still don't believe - why do you not think the Rockets are going to the playoffs? I took a look at all the teams that could be in or out this year, and it could be very close I admit that. but damn this schedule favours the Rockets. Giving predictions for every teams final record is not easy, but thinking of this in a Rockets playoffs perspective I came up with this - and I think I've been kind to all teams (even Rockets but more to the others I think) and this is what I came up with: Mavs 49-33 Suns 49-33 Rockets 49-33 Wolves 48-34 Sonics 47-35 Nuggets 46-36 *)btw this calculates a Mavs Win tonight - so a Rockets win would be really great. I've said earlier that I predict the Rockets to end up with 48-34, and I still belive that - and that it would be enough for the playoffs. In my prediction post I have earlier racked up 52 wins for Rockets with the possibility for 4 slip-ups, for a 48-34 record. We've had 2 of those slipups already - 1 in january, and 1 in february - and 2 months to go. This prediction has every team basically raping the east rest of the way - apart from a few har away games - and I don't see that happening - so I can see 47-48 wins being sufficent for just getting in the playoffs. I'll be back with the schedule for each team so everyone can make their own predictions... ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.

Heath, you are saying that the Mavs are gonna go only 2 games above 500 for the rest of the season.. NO WAY. if anything their roster is better than in the first half. If the Rockets continue to play hot, and I think they will, It is going tio be exciting near the end of the season. I beleive the rockets CAN make the playoffs, but i think they will likely end up 1 game short. If I recall I gave the Rockets 48 wins in the pre-season too, but the Twolves are not gonna continue their slide. they are too good. PEACE ------------------ Hanta-Force Paintball www.hanta-force.com

I'm just going very conservative with the scheule - of course I can see some of these teams going stronger than others (Mavs - I don't know about the Wolves - they might stop to fall - but that isnt the same that they will go stronger than I predict), but for this to happen they have to steal wins from others, and with me already predicting wins against the low-life of the NBA I will have to guess that its a pretty good chance for these wins to come against some of the contenders - so I believe the race could be fairly close but I think Rockets have an excellent chance and should expect to be in the playoffs - hopefully even at #7. I have also calculated Rockets to lose all thei away games to fellow contenders (and above) so if they can make anything out of this they will cover for unexpected losses and be just fine. ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.

It just seems like the Suns and Wolves will never die. I know that the Rockets are playing playoff basketball, but they still trail these much less talented teams. Those slipups are going to prove to be very costly, I'm afraid. To think, if the Rockets had won the two Clipper losses, 1 Warrior loss, and 1 Celtic loss, they would be 36-23 right now, and in the playoffs. The Rockets would be 16-19 against the west (or something like that), and would be in great shape. Instead they are still behind three games, and that could be 3 and 1/2 if they lose tonight. I think the Rockets are actually going to keep winning, but I also think the teams in front will never die. Its bloody awful, I tell you! ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
I beleive. But the thing is, we've only beaten ONE contender out of the big four ALL SEASON. The Lakers. How do we expect to show our faces in the playoffs with a record like that? ONE win against top 4 teams in the West? Personally, if the Rox make it to the first round, I think they'lll be sweeped by the Spurs. But just being in the playoffs, having the experience of working incredibly hard to get there, and knowing that they have the ability to do so will give them a great boost for a much bigger season next year. I still think we'll make it in with a 47-35 record though. ------------------
Lets go with Rudy & Dream - Fockass for the playoffs. ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
You can't think like that ZRB (Of course you can you just did) Then we really needed to lose some games too - and all the other teams have had their slip-ups to - everyone have. And its not like the Clippers are the Clippers. And why the hell has Bulls won even one game this year? And not only to bad teams... ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
When you can't beat good teams, you have to beat the bad ones. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
Puedlfor I'm jsut bringing this up for the believer aslo now. Ok I know I made this post for the non-believers but lets hear from all of you: How do you see the season ending for the playoff-contenders. And for your information all games thus far for teams mention has gone the way I wrote it up in my head while doing this prediction, so for me we're still on track. Even though it hurts when higher ranked teams pulls out wins (home) against the other contenders while being down - it is just as I pictured it - and we will be there. but damn a win against Mavs would have been nice now - and what if Wolves had not come back against Sonics... But Rockets has to do it them self - and I BELIEVE they will. ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
BELIEVE!!! LETS GO ROCKS! For the record - not one of Rockets fellow contenders have done better than I predicted in this thread thus far. Ok - Suns won a game yesterday that I chalked up as a loss, but they lost today what I had down as a win so it evens it up. And thats what I'm saying. Teams will win games they are not "chalked" up to do, and then lose others. As I said earlier in the thread - I have given every team more wins than I think they will get as I guess they will lose some against inferior team. If they win some the "shouldn't chances are that they steal from the others in this thread so that wont matter so much. So check all teams (ah forget Nuggets and Sonics if you want - I've given them too much but check everyone else, and give your final prediction.... ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
