I hate him because he do not emphasize the identity on this team.. He seems to counteract everytime and his offense looked surprise.. There is not really a flow on the offense and I hate it when our labeled star players on this team does not have the ball when it needs to be with them. I also hate the shot distribution now and the rotation of his players...
I don't blame him. Our Big 3s are either soft or injured. When you best players are not reliable the team won't go very far.
i heard about his late reaction of game back to the day when he was in kings. now i believe. "let the guy figure out by themseves" is not fit for every team
I don't hate Rick Adelman at all and will still take him over JVG. Consider where the Rockets were a year and half with JVG and we are about the same.
Let's total up what he's working with here. 1. A mentally fragile and possibly physically injured star. 2. two of his best defenders playing "day to day" or not making road trips 3. Integrating two (at least) new players into a rotation that hasn't been solid because of the first two items in this list 4. No practice time - one day in how many weeks? 5. being told to "limit players minutes" 6. total lack of communication by his players on the court defensively The list goes on and on. I'm not the guys biggest fan, but come on. He's doing the best he can. HE can't make them rotate on defense HE can't make the shots fall HE can't make injuries go away Give the guy a break for crying out loud.
exactly, jvg's line up was fairly consistent in 07, although he did a great job in t-mac's first year in 06 coaching on the run adding all those guys in the middle of the year. you know what, so did RA last season.
Shifting lineups don't excuse the pathetic defense the Rockets have been playing as of late. I'll grant the notion that because his players change from day to day the offense is difficult to smooth out - but that excuse doesn't hold for defense. He's just to laid back about everything. I will give Adelman credit for not going back to his starters last night at the end like he did over and over before - but I won't give him a pass on the team's lack of defensive identity. Yes Battier has been out as of late, yes Artest has missed a couple of games - but that doesn't explain the lack of intensity from the other guys on defense. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this lack luster performance on defense wouldn't have been tolerated with Van Gundy. Defense is about who wants it more and the Rockets seem to just be sleep walking right now. This team doesn't need a player's coach, it needs a coach who will light a fire under its starts who sometimes tend to be lazy. So yeah, the stars are sucking it up right now, but Adelman isn't doing anything to turn that around. And to all those who say the teams record is the same or worse at this time under Van Gundy - this team is far superior to Van Gundy's last team in terms of talent. We should be WAY beyond where Van Gundy was.
After seeing today's lakers@hornets game, I feel our team are way behind those elite team, I mean, way behind. We can't even see the dust. I blame no one. It's the team who should be to blame
I don't hate anyone, but he often seems confused, befuddled, clueless. Given his history, I don't understand his reactions. Granted, he doesn't have much to work with right now, but I am coming to think that he is just not the right fit for this group of players.
Yao is not a creative player. But RA's tactics are all around him. How can we go far with the worst 5 fg%?
