Why do we not feed off the hot hand?

Has anyone noticed when one of or role players (anyone other than SF or Cat) start shooting well in a game we will suddenly stop going to them. I have noticed this trend a lot recently with Posey, Rice and especially Mo. They will be shooting lights out during a stretch and then don’t see much of the ball for the rest of the game or worse sit on the bench for a long period of time?

When I think back on the championship years it seems that whenever a role player would get hot we would give them the green light and milk them for everything they had no matter who they were.

Has anyone else noticed this trend or is it just in my head?

What if no one has a hot hand, why not work the ball around and let the team concept work?

Thanks for bring this up. Coincidentally a prime example of that was the 1st in SA. MoT was ON FIRE and the Rox came from about 10-12 points down to take the lead. Then stupid Cat starts jacking up bad shots and it went downhill from there. Calvin Murphy was practically screaming at the Rox to get MoT the ball.

I completely agree with you on this point. This seems to be one of our other primary offensive flaws. I think the easiest way to get the offense going is through ball movement rather than running iso's and cat/sf/mooch dribbling around a lot.

Cat and Moochie are the momentum breakers. How many time Cat makes a dumb play or jack up a stupid shot whenever the team make a nice run. And Moochie is such a shot clock violator. I hope next season the rockets improve on their passing skill and play more fundamental basketball.
