Why do we double team everybody?

Do we have some sort of global double teaming policy? It seems we double team everybody regardless of their offensive prowess.

Double teaming may serve some purpose (I am not sure what it is) but it's obvious the Rockets have no idea how to rotate on defense and we leave guys wide open all game.

I would like to see just one game of no double teaming and see how it works. It's not like we are on a winning steak or anything. Change something up Rudy!

To be honest, I tend to think we don't double team enough. If you watch the general defensive philosophy, it is to rotate.

To me, the biggest defensive improvements we need are better rotations, big men consistently showing on the pick and roll and staggered double teams - coming at different times, some right away, some delayed.

The rotations would be more consistant if the lineup was more consistant. Guys are playing different positions, guys are playing 10 minutes one game, 30 minutes the next, guys aren't comfortable enough with the lineup to know where to rotate so we end up with two guys running to the same opponent, leaving someone else wide open for the shot.Rudy's always handles his lineup by the seat of his pants, but I think, especially with all the injuries, he needs to put his best 5 guys on the floor for 36 minutes a game or more.

Aw come on guys, this is basketball, not Rocket science.

These guys should know the defensive responsibilities of EVERY position on the floor, there are only 5 after all.

The Rockets are just inexperienced, and do not know how to play defense yet. In fact, I think the young guys are all caught up in getting on ESPN, and not worried about defensive committment, which is what it takes to win consistently.
