I'm a original Houstonian now living in California. I love watching rockets games on NBA Ticket but they freaking always show the opposing telecast. I love Calvin Murphy man!!! Anyways, do any other transplant fans know why they do not show their telecasts this year? Last season they showed Calvin/Bill Worrell about half the time.....this season maybe one or two out of 30 games....whats the deal? Does the NBA hate Calvin Murphy? Is he too "crazy" for national TV??

I noticed the same thing. On away games we get the home team announcers. On home games we get the same:rolleyes:

It's fun to hear others' opinions of the Rox but I miss Bill and Calvin -especially the ganster outfits:D

The Houston station that carries the games did not get the contracts done in time to get the paperwork into the office to be approved for the telecast. The few we have seen have been because the other team was also not approved for telecast. Its my understanding it will be this way for the entire year.

I have normal warner digital cable and live in galveston. I can never find the games. I know 51 is the channel. What does that equate to for normal cable? Thanks

Any chance we get these games on a real channel with a better contract?

Are you on CRACK? The reason : Calvin Murphy!

He sounds like a fool. He is an embarrasment to the league. Same reason Celtic announcers are getting rarer and rarer.

if you are a real rockets fan, you appreciate the humor of calvin murphy....i'll take calvin and bill over any announcers in the leaGUE....the worst announcers in the league in my opinion are sanantonio and utah.......bunch of stupid hick announcers...

Someone posted League Pass picks up games through regional sports networks first. If neither team is on a regional sports network, the home team's broadcast is picked up. Tonight makes no sense since Denver's KTVD (on air broadcast) is scheduled as the carrier. IMO League Pass made the schedule before the Rockets signed their TV deal.

Smokey is right, as befits somebody with 4000+ posts.

The league picks up the broadcast of the team that is using a regional sports net -- like Fox Sports Southwest, or the YES Network that the Yankees and Nets use, for example -- first.

If both teams have are using a regional sports net, or neither is, then they pick up the home broadcast.

There may be a few exceptions, but this applies in almost every case. It has to do with technical specifications and how easy it is to grab the feed for League Pass.
