Maybe I'm blind, but it seems to me we get mugged a ton and get fewer calls. It was apparent when Yao was here, and now with Martin, a career 8 ft per gamer shooter, no calls.

Why is that? I don't get it.

everyone except Lowry. Everyone else avoids contact in hopes of making a difficult shot...it needs to stop.

Too many guys SHY away from contact instead of taking it on...

Lowry and Martin are good at taking on the contact the rest try to avoid it and the refs don't call the ticky tack stuff.

AB gets screwed on that deal.

AB's dumbass dribbling is making me angry.

Dribbling into 3 defenders and getting trapped. He's already small, why does he do it to himself.

I think the Rockets rank in the top 5 in terms of drawing fouls per game in the league. There really isn't a huge difference among teams in that regard. Variation from game-to-game may be an issue, though.

is that overall fouls though, or on shot attempts? i think they charges they draw inflate that ranking

Because we have AB dribbling half the shot clock away and Ariza trying to build a new stadium with his poor shooting.

That's overall. I'm not sure how to get charges out of there, but considering the number of 3's we take and the fact we have no inside presence to speak of, there's not much we're going to get calls for.

While I agree the officiating tonight was pretty bad, it still doesn't excuse our shot selection. Why keep settling for quick jumpers?

Martin gets A TON OF calls. He's similar to Maggette in terms of getting to the FT line amazingly often for a non-superstar(why do you think Morey worships him?). Give him some time and you'll see him get to the line.

Lowry would also get more calls if he only could develop a shot. Hence forcing defenders to be closer to give him more driving options.

But otherwise, I agree that this team has no ability to draw fouls.

Because most of the time both Battier and Ariza are on the court...

Rockets are 18th in the league in drawing defensive fouls per offensive possession. 19th in the league in defensive fouls drawn per play.
