Do not give the rockets enough credit ?? think about it, even during our championship yrs we did not get the credit we deserved and little stupid comments such as the latest from ESPN "Houston fans can thank MJ" for us winning back to back, EXCUSE ME ??? The national media have to get over this major ass licking/salad tossing when it comes to teams such as LA and NY knicks. Give credit where credit is due that is all I ask ! ------------------ Life moves pretty fast, If you don't stop and look once in a while you might miss it!! ... Ferris Bueler
That's actually been the case ever since i could remember. Whenever Houston deserves credit, all what they get is a bunch of horsesh*t! As long as that David Stern is in charge, this will remain the case ------------------ How Sweet it is! [This message has been edited by CompaqC (edited October 08, 2000).]

although davie stern has done some good stuff for the LEAGUE, he has been horrible to the rockets. he wants the rockets to leave houston. why would you want to move them to a town hte size of corpus Christi(I think) somewhere in Kentucky, instead of the 4th largest city in the country. The rockets have many devoted fans, which is why the arena is sold out so often and so the franchise isnt loosing money.
Corpus Christie is in Texas. And Stern does not want Rocks to leave Houston. ------------------ Fun Police Says: 1. Stupid threads & Stupid BBS names are not FUN! 2. Stern doesn't want want the Rockets to leave Houston, so long as that's where the money is. He's also not going to allow Houston to indefinitely postpone building a new stadium. It's business. The Rockets don't get much attention because while Houston is the 4th largest city, it's in the mid-teens in terms of market. San Antonio hasn't exactly got much credit either, for their victory. The NBA would be thrilled if NY or LA won every year. ------------------ Shandon Anderson rocks. The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001.
if he doesnt want them to move, then why did he say that if houston does move(a move that he did support), then they will not get an expansion franchise and he doubts that a franchise will move here. to me that sounds like he does want us to move. and rockets03 i said a city THE SIZE of Corpus Christie(Louisville)
Because without a new stadium the Rockets will leave and no other NBA team will move here without one either. To top it off, there is no NBA expansion planned for the next decade. It all boils down to we need to build a new stadium and everything will be alright. ------------------ Houston Rockets Forever!! In Rudy We Trust
Im sorry vj, i didnt realize that. But Stern is of course going to say that Houston wont get another franchise. Cause if he says that Houston will get another franchise if Rockets move, than what the heck is the point of keeping the Rockets. There wouldnt be an urgency to keep the Rockets. Typical Houston attitude would prevail "who cares is the Rockets move. We will get another franchise just like in football". Stern would rather not have the Rockets move, but if he knows that Les Alexander can make more money elsewhere than he would definitely support Les. First choice - Houston with a new arena Second choice - some other city with a new arena Third choice - staying in Houston and playing in the Compaq. So of course the NBA wants a new arena for the Rockest. Plus the NBA is in no mood to expand rite now. And even if they did it probably would be in Canada or Mexico city. Houston definitely wont be in line to recieve an expansion team any time soon. All this of course is not to say that Stern is a nice guy. He would rather have the damn Bulls, Lakers, and Knicks win it every year. Only if the NBA was more like the NFL in promoting their players and teams. That way people like Kobe and Carter and teams like the Lakers and Bulls wouldnt be shoved down our throats. And players like Ray Allen and Raheem would get some much deserved pub. Teams like Bucks, Rockets and Spurs would also get promoted. In the NFL whichever team is doing good gets promoted......well anyways I think I have wandered way off topic.... ------------------ Fun Police Says: 1. This has always confused me... I mean, if we "backed in to two titles" due to the fact that MJ was not here, what does that say about all the other teams in the league during these seasons? I believe they had the same chance as us, no? Is anyone who wins a championship, post-Jordan, somehow less worthy? ------------------
