it is true that fans love Francis more... even Yao, is a better friend and loves Francis more than Tracy this is interesting to think about.... is it because of effort? heart?....character?
Possibly because he was never that Injury prone unlike T-Mac. Also, because T-Mac had a reputation of quitting on teams after the 03-04 Season.
Francis and Yao had the deeper bond because Stevie was there for Yao when he first came to the league and took him on like a brother.
yea, but TMac played, Francis didnt even play at all this season...u cant say tamc is a p***y he played through pain, cant say tmac quit on the team either
Take a look at that Cavs game on Tuesday and those games on the 03-04 season He admitted Quitting on his team just like Vince Carter did in Toronto.
Probably because fans are fickle schoolgirls. Most of the fanbase was ready to crucify Francis his last year here. They've forgotten about Francis' inadequacies because now it's Tracy's turn at the stake. Revisionism is great.
how did he quit yesterday? how come even the cavs announcers didn't think so and you think so when they had a courtside seat? it was the 4th game in 5 nights and he's still recovering from a bum knee.
tracy never quit on orlando in 03-04. the team quit on him. the gm john weisbrod i think his name was, treated tmac like scum and poured all the blame on him for the horrible start.the whole starting lineup would've been bench players on any other team. juwan howard and tyronn lue are probably the only people on that team thats still in the league and ofcourse tmac was to blame. smh.
There are going to be games where T-Mac doesn't play up to his potential and/or is playing half-assed for fear of further injuring his knee. But, what everyone seems to forget is that he has still been the guy EVERY year that has led this team with the chips down. 21-11 record in 06-07 without Yao, 10 game win streak last year without Yao and 27/8/7 in the 6 game loss to the Jazz, etc... He has NEVER quit on this team. You can cite his injuries, occasional laziness and poor 4th quarters in games 1 & 2 of last year's playoffs as a reason to hate him, but he has never quit on this team and has been the one star on this team that has consistently come up big in important situations.
Simple. Stevie, on the court, always played hard and with heart. He loves Houston and while anyone can question character/commitment, no one could question that he always gave it his 100% on the court as a Houston Rocket, even while hurt and injured.
at least there's heart?!?!?! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eGDBR2L5kzI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eGDBR2L5kzI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
One guy can make it look easy, one guy makes it look like a root canal. People talk about tracy quitting, but what about in the middle of a playoff run, francis wanted to stay back because it was superbowl weekend? What about the dismal record in games decided by 3 pts or less because francis and cuturnover flipped the pill over? Never mind francis was drafted 2 vs 9th by mcgrady, how quickly we forget.
