Kings sending guard Bibby to Hawks for four players

The Kings have agreed to send Bibby to Atlanta for guards Anthony Johnson and Tyronn Lue, center Lorenzen Wright and forward/center Shelden Williams. Williams was the Hawks' first-round choice in the 2007 NBA draft.

According to The Sacramento Bee, the Kings will also receive the Hawks' second-round pick in this year's draft.

if i'm not mistaken, all 4 hawks have expiring contracts. we just don't have that.

Man, this is definitely the season to have had several expiring contracts that amounted to anything.

This just prove that Morrey is regretting to trade MJ for Howard. We might have a shot at Bibby or Kidd with Howard's contract!

3 expiring contracts plus a sophomore high lottery pick.

The Rockets have expiring or near expiring contracts. They just don't have $10m+ of them (75% of Bibby's $13.5m). And under Morey, it's unlikely they'll ever have anything greater than Battier's and James' MLE level expirings.

Howard's contract would not have been expiring, he had another year to go. Also Rockets have already traded their lottery pick.

Bibby is not worth 13M anyway. His game is going down hill.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but they want to free up money to lock up Kevin martin with a bigger contract, right? The Hawks deal makes sense then.

Nice try at making something which has already been posted (in the proper forum), Rockets related.

I think its funny that everyone assumes that because Rick Adelman is our coach that the Kings were just going to give up Bibby for Snyder and Mike James.

Im glad the Rockets didnt get Bibby. He is going to make a rediculous amount of money next year. He plays terrible defense and his game has been on the decline for awhile.

I dont think the Kings did bad on this trade. Sheldon Williams has done nothing this year and fell out of the rotation with Horford coming in, but he was very good at the end of last year. The Kings free up salary cap space and get to take a chance on Williams at a reasonable rookie deal.

The Kings got Anthony Johnson, SWilliams, tyron Lue, and Lorenzo Wright. I am not sure it's that much more than KS and MJ. We could have thrown in Bonzi and Novak, if Hawks were actually looking for a talent swap. However, as alluded by posters above, the kings are trading for expiring contracts not for the players. I can't believe we can't piece together 10 million dollar worth of expiring contract to get bibby. he could have been the final piece.

Hawks made a good trade. they are now going to be a force in the east.

thats a better deal than we could offer.

snyder, steve, bonzi, brooks, maybe hayes would be as close as we can come.

steve has a player option for next season, hayes is signed for 3 more years and bonzi isn't liked there.

If Rockets had enough expiring deals, I doubt they use it on Bibby.

He just isn't woth his salary.
