Damon Jones has nung around the team every summer for years now and we never gave him a chance. It seems like he finally is going to stick in the league:

2nd in the league in A/TO (behind AD, who also wanted to be a Rocket, BTW)
    2nd in A/48mins (behind Kidd)
    35% from 3-pt.

    Another miss by CD...

actually, we had damon in camp before last season. rudy let him go because he "wanted to give damon a chance to sign on somewhere else". moochie "the dribbling demon" was signed as our backup point before that and with his ridiculous contract, we apparently couldn't justify having damon on the squad.

often times, our front office looks like a bunch of f-ing clowns.

No, it was worse. We kept Tierre Brown over Damon in 2001. Even worse.

What's the big deal? He wasn't going to supplant Moochie Norris as the second PG because of his contract, and he was too good to be happy as a 3rd-string PG. It wasn't a good fit so they let him go.

And people keep saying Daniels wanted to come here. That's not the way I remember it happening.

DJones was Moochie insurance. I believed Moochie signed at the end of that training camp (and proceeded to come in overweight and out of shape), which meant the Rox planned to give Mooch all of the backup point minutes. The Rox did Jones a favor in letting him ook for a better opportunity (not because Tierre Brown was better).

Because we didn't want a black guy sitting at the end of the bench. I'm so disappointed with you for not being able to figure this out, Kayman.

This is correct. When we signed Jones, we were negotiating with Moochie. When Moochie signed, we released Jones. Classic mistake - we should have let one of the other teams overpay him. Without the curse of the Little Dribbler, Griffin would have not turned into a basket-case, Collier would have acquired lateral quickness, Langhi would have learned to hit the spot-up 3, Mo T would have learned to rebound and not have torn his achilles tendon, Boki would be able to hit any shot, Posey would have stayed for a reasonable price, Rudy T wouldn't have gotten cancer, Calvin Murphy would not have done anything to be charged for child molestation and Steve and Cat would be running the fast break like Magic Johnson.

Players who lead the league in A/TO and A/48 do not sit at the end of the bench, generally. This space is solely reserved for the Scott Padgets, Erick Pisskowskis, B. "can't make a shot" Nachbars, Bryce Drewses, and Brent Prices of the world.

Moochie hit a couple of buzzer beaters, and all of a sudden CD thinks he's Vinny "microwave" Johnson or something. As is the norm in the Rockets organization, he was promptly rewarded with a 6 year, $22 million contract. Other players signed to long term deals:

Matt Maloney: 6 yrs, $18 million
Brent Price: 7 yrs, $18 million
Kelvin Cato: 6 yrs, $42 million
Mo Taylor: 6 yrs, $48 million

Why did the 7 teams that had Damon Jones the last 5 seasons not give him a chance either????

Maybe because he was not that good before this season???

Fire CD. Damn him for not having his crystal ball.

I don't know about Damon Jones being as good as the stats look... If you check over at some Milwaukee message boards, you would find that everybody or at least most of them hate to see Damon Jones on the floor even though he gets 10 assists.... Some say he's terrible on D, some simply say he's a blackhole or he's really playing BADDD despite the stat... for example, "why does Coach put him back in again???" is some common complaint I've no idea tho (as bucks're never on TV)...

But he always gets sick stats on the boxscores... like 18pt 12ast or 11pt 14ast... I think he's somehow obtainable if he's not considered that highly on the Bucks..

Nevertheless, he'd be the perfect backup PG on our team for the near future!

Yeah, I was browsing the Bucks board at ESPN during our game and a lot of the Bucks fans wanted Brevin Knight to start over Jones. Most of them were saying that Knight, at 5'10, was actually a much better defender than Jones.
