Most likely Wade, who was on board already. Not saying Wade had something against Pollard personally, but Pollard wasn't his type of strong safety.

    Pollard is horrible at coverage.
Dude has an attitude problem, only looks to hit people.

Worst secondary in the league last season, and we needed to get better cover guys. Pollard is mostly a big hitter that has to be on the right team.

he quit on the team. he wasn't hurt and said he would not play the last game of the season. denied treatment for his "injury"

they have ed reed, he can cover 90% of the field , while pollard can roam near the line of scrimmage and lay out hits, so that was the perfect fit for him. Also what v3 said.
in order for wade to run his mastermind of a scheme on offenses, he needs two safeties that can cover.

Pollard played well for us 2 years ago but wasn't good last year. He can hit and play the run but got exposed in coverage. Then, in the last game vs. Jacksonville, he pretty much quit. He'd had a hurt shoulder and had been taking pain killing injections during the season. Everybody expected him to play that final game but on gameday, he refused to get the shot and play. I think he wanted to leave and didn't give a ****. Not wanting to play in a meaningless game when you have an injury is understandable, but he handled the situation poorly and basically didn't tell anyone he wasn't going to play until gametime which really pissed off Kubiak.

Of course, the fans never knew about the injury so many have speculated that he wasn't injured at all and just flat out refused to play.

We ended up with better safties anyway.

Pollard knew what was best for the team, we never should have won that game and if we didn't we could have Patrick Peterson right now.

That's why players and fans don't make personnel decisions.

Watt was every bit as impact-full as Peterson.

He was the worst cover safety in the league last year. That's why.

The DC that brought him on was about to be fired, and he was becoming a free agent, the chances of him being retained were slim. He may have handled it poorly, but I'm pretty sure his pink slip in Houston was written up LONG before he decided to shut it down at the end of the year.

Watt was great but imagine Peterson and Joseph at our two corners, then Manning at safety.

Not to mention Peterson is a stud at returning kicks, something that we suck at.
