Asians are highly educated minority. A lot of them work for universities and research institutions and rely on government funding for a living and they do not want the research funding to be cut under the GOP rule. Those who work for private companies are subject to serious glass ceiling posed by the white crowd. The restaurant owners and laundry shop owners have smart ways to get away with tax increase. So the taxes will likely not be affected by both partisanship.

The bullying toward the Asians in the army is directly from the white trash servicemen. The robbery and murder of Asian restaurant delivery men by the black were random and were not that significant statistically (not that it should ever have happened). They, for the most part, choose to and can afford to live in white community and avoid contact with the criminal crowd. Discrimination by blacks in the service industry and society is there but the glass ceiling in the private sector and research institutions posed by the caucasian dignitaries is lethal to their career advancement and social economic status. They compete very little with the blacks and amigos for jobs but largely with white white collar workers. They appreciate the fact that amigos really work hard and some blacks could be really nice. Violent crimes can be punished by the law, but the invisible, systematic oppression from the white elite can not be as easy to be relieved because the latter controls the economy and power and some of them bear the sense of racial superiority.

So in the position to fight again the white autocrats, they stand firmly with the other minorities and nearly 3/4 voted for Obama, a few percentage point increase from 4 years ago. The block voting in some swing states like Florida is believed to have played a critical role in Obama's victory.

I think that was his point. He gave an answer to a question he thought people might have.

If it makes any difference, I think Glen, in "The Walking Dead", would probably vote Republican. So would have T-Dawg, but he was gone 2 days before the election.

What does Republican stand for these days?

Anti-gay, Asians do not care about this too much if they care at all.
Anti-immigrant, a no win issue for many Asians.
Christian values, Asians are not mostly Christians.
Anti gun control, a no win issue with most Asians.
Cut education funding, a no win issue for Asians.
Increase defense spending, not a major issue for Asians.
Cut tax for the rich, not a major issue for Asians.

You can ask the same question about the Jewish community. With a few exceptions, minority groups lean to the Democrats.

It's Jeremy Lin. He plays basketball with black people like James Harden and, previously, Landry Fields and Tyson Chandler. Thus Jeremy Lin fans are voting in droves for the basketball playing black candidate.

I would consider voting for an 80s Republican, which is an imaginary creature in todays politics.... After all carbon trading and ObRomneyCare were reasoned conservative proposed compromises in the 90s in the face of compelling facts and data flanked by shrill ideologues bent on a quick fix.

Even then, I'd have to stomach the palins, Bachmann's, Akins and whatever bull**** culture warriors whose prime source of validation is their tendency to get elected.

According to them, I'm not a real American  and i haven't even spoken a word yet.

Many Asians don't feel comfortable being associated with today's GOP for some reason.

well you cant group all asians together since they actually have very different voting trends. The Chinese/Taiwanese/Japanese/Korean bloc usually are the ones that are highly successful and educated. South East Asia not so much and most of them face the same struggles as other minorities.

Indians are the richest ethnic group in America and they tend to be democratic (65%).

I think Vietnamese are generally Republican whereas other Asians generally are Democrats. I read it somewhere but can't remember all of the breakdown.

    "The black", "amigos"..

Anyway to answer the question seriously I think that since Asians are more college educated and urban that tends to make them more Democratic like other urban college educated groups. Some particular issues though are immigration and many Asians are turned of by the anti-immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric that crops up in the Republican party.

One thing to note is that many Asians, particularly first generation immigrants, are very socially conservative. There are also many very Christian Asians, like Jeremy Lin, and in the Korean American community. The GOP has tried at times to make inroads into the Asian vote to attract Asians like those with mixed results.
