Free agent big man Chuck Hayes has agreed to sign a four-year, $22.3 million to return to Sacramento.

Hayes had his four-year, $21 million deal voided by the Kings on Monday when tests revealed an abnormality in his heart, yet he was cleared to play on Thursday morning after seeking a second opinion.

According to a source close to the situation, teams can only void contracts based on a failed physical for six days after it is signed.

They offered him more, you have to assume his agent and them came to an agreement after the misdiagnosis.

They agreed to terms with Chuck, but forgot to compensate his heart? Looks like Chuck's heart is a real diva; wants his own locker and will only eat blue M&Ms.

Is that really the real reason? Maybe houston matched it and Sac town offered even more?

There were reports that Minny was going after him... I bet they offered the amount of the voided contract so Sac bumped up the price.

    That's my guess.

Hayes was unrestricted free agent. There is no matching period.

Minny and Toronto were also after him after his contract was voided.

Just because he was a UFA, doesn't mean his agent wasn't letting them match/beat offers.

Because Samuel Dalembert was off the market. Chuck had fewer competitors for the starting spot.

Yeah but if Houston was giving the same money I'm sure he would be more inclined to stay here?? Think about it.

They paid him more to cover his Dr. bills because they made a big time F**k up during his physical

No arguments to say this was a classy move by the owners? Hell, they told him "you will never be able to play basketball in your life". That is definitely a hard thing to say to a player with such heart. Offering him the same money kind of seems like an insult. Just give him a little more and no had feelings.
