This was an article about the cleveland players calling season ticket holders to thank them...the key excerpt is what i am quoting It was great,'' he said. "We also got to find out what they do and a little bit about them. But we really wanted to thank them for coming to games, even in the bad times.'' Estis said the players did not work off a script and were only told to thank fans and encourage them to attend the home season finale, when the Cavs will unveil a new logo and colors for next season. BTW, i mean unveiling our new stuff at the season finale...not having players call season ticket owners
Because they need any excuse they can to get fans to come to games this season. LeBron will fill the arena next season.
Free Agent:- There is almost zero chance that Le Bron will go to Cleveland. Even though they will have a high percentage chance of getting him. You need to see the past DRAFT Results.
Contrary to the rules of statistical probability; The fact is Cleveland has the greatest chance to get him, but not a greater chance than all others combined, and the fact that the team with the greatest single chance to win the lottery has never done so in no way reduces their status as team with the best chance, let alone defends their portrayal as having 'almost zero chance'...unless you're a Stern based conspiracy theorist, which isn't unreasonable, IMO.
There is that Steve-Yao visiting fans to thank them commercial. You know, the one where Steve pokes fun at himself in the end for passing the dish to Yao to dry. I thought Lebron had soured on the Cavs when they fired Lucas. Not that he can dictate where he goes, but, then again, he can. The top 3 picks in this draft could be very very good in 5 years.
Have you been to a game lately? I think they are doing quite well from what I've seen. Even the Nuggets game seemed to have a pretty good crowd.
I have moved to Waco for school this semester, so admittedly I don't have a close gauge of the attendance, as I don't get any Rockets games, except for nationally televised games. However it was only 3 weeks ago when we had less than 11k fans show up against the Clippers.
I was at that game, I got a great parking spot! Seriously though attendance has been improving this year. But it is (and probably always will be) a late arriving-early leaving crowd.
Rockets ticket sales are up dramatically this season. Also, remember, they didn't even sell out playoff games in the first part of the early 90's. It took time before they became a night-in-night-out sellout. My guess is that the new arena plus the continued support of Yao will push them up into the 15 to 16K range next year with a lot more sellouts, but we'll see.
