With all of the other trades getting thrown around about McDyess and Odom why can't there be a three way deal so we can land both of them? Rockets: Send #1 pick to the Clips for Odom, the 8th, and 12th pick. Then send Eddie Griffin, Mo Taylor, 8th, and 12th pick to Denver for McDyess. Our lineup next year would be: PG: Francis/Norris SG: Mobley/Torres SF: Odom/Rice PF: McDyess/KT C: Cato/(15th pick either Ely or Haislip) With that lineup we would be contenders for a long time. I want to be in the playoffs again soooooo bad!!
McDyess is one of my favorite players in the entire league, along with Michael Finley. I'm serious. But you just don't give up EG, MoT, #8, and #12 to get damaged goods. No one knows if Big Mac will ever return to being the player he was, and he's not that young anymore. Will I always love McDyess? Yes. Do I want us to trade for him? No. If we could get McDyess for EG, MoT, and #15, I might consider it. But to tell you the truth, we're building a team for the future, and Griffin is like 20 years old. We need to keep him.
1) McDyess makes $12.6m. Taylor + EG make $9.3m. IMHO, the Nuggets would let McDyess walk next year when Juwan Howards $20m comes off their payroll before the tie up a long-term contract like Taylors. 2) In the numerous Dice trade scenario threads, it's been established that other teams have better trade offers (Cavs can offer their pick + Andre Miller + Mihm and/or Tyronne Hill who is in the last year of his contract). I like Dice, but Denver doesn't like MoT's contract.
Because one is an established all-star, and the other was a star on the rise. One year of being hurt doesn't mean anything. Don't start with the injury prone.
