Why can't Stro rebound the damn ball?

Stro plays real lazy. He gots games in which he has 0 rebounds, 1 rebound, and two 2 rebounding games. Sure he doesn't play a lot but someone with his athletic abilty should be doing more. Rebounding is all heart and hustle. Quite frankly, he isn't doing either. Does he got Kelvin Cato written all over him?

Too worried about JVG pulling him, I think he may be a tad sensitive...

He is not lazy, he just not strong enough to get into positions. Reminds me alot of Yao's rookie year. He will be fine once he puts on some weights, but that will take time.

Stro doesn't have good rebounding instincts. Simple as that. Never has and probably never will. That's the way he is and get used to it. He is the type of player that drives people crazy because his output will never match his capability. That is why Memphis let him go for nothing.

He needs to grow up. He doesn't even run the court hard half of the time. His basketball IQ is real low and he think he can shoot long jumpers.

Cato could rebound, he just couldn't shoot. At this point, I would gladly take Cato over SS.

He ain't lazy my bro, he simply doesn't know what to do. He's a pure power forward, no mental.

One crazy thing he did tonight was he drove to the basket and he panicked when he saw the defense and he threw the ball into the cameramen. JEEZ!@#^$^*.

Because he is not a good rebounder for his size/position and never has been.

Not to say he never will be. But folks were crazy thinking he was going to a)Come in and start right away and b) Average anything close to 10 rebs a game.

He has the same problems other poor rebounding 4s do. He never puts a body on his man or the man closest to him. Maybe because he thinks he can just out jump people for it.

If you watch Deke, one thing he does well is, as soon as the shot goes up, he will actually turn and find someone to put a body on.

I'm not that desperate. You want to put another player who can't shoot into a lineup that is struggling to make shots?

I've also been disappointed with Swift's efforts in rebounding. He is almost always out of position. He hardly ever even boxes out.

Rebounding is effort and desire and has little to do with size. Someone from the Rocket's staff seriously needs to teach and practice with Swift on how to get good rebounding position because he has the quickness and athleticism to be a good rebounder. Maybe the Rockets should put him in rebounding drills against Lonny Baxter in practice.

Stro relies on pure athletic ability for his boards, he really doesn't have the fundamentals of blocking out and muscling up to rebound big, or consistently for that matter.

But like Bullard and Rocketegle said, rebounding also has a lot to do with desire. Artest was a perfect example tonight, he wanted everything much more than any of the Rockets.

Sadly, Stro so far reminds me of a more athletic EG who doesn't jack up threes. Both are very quiet and unmotivated. Both have SICK talent, and are HUGE underachievers. GET SOME HEART!!!

Swift was never a good rebounder, Memphis fans would tell you that. You can't have everything.
