just wondering, see a lot of fraternity members wearing them, i can't say i see them in the northeast. EDIT: i cant believe theres no other pi kapps on this forum?? texas have like 7 chapters, aggies have over 100 actives...
yeah, they're huge from north carolina down to florida and throughout the SEC. couldn't tell you why though. Some of it is legitimate, many of those people spend alot of time on the water. Alot of it is just for looks.
cause theyre like wearing closed toed shoes but theyre actually sandals. theyre really popular in hospitals among physicians and nurses.
i wear mine any time i'm doing anything active, really. but i started wearing them on the water... nothing like losing your shades in the river or lake. costas, croakies, and topsiders are southern frat staples... that's for damn sure.
For kids and moms, ok...But grown mean, that's just super ghey...carry on... As for croakies, I had one a long time ago, but I don't spend much time in the water so no need...
My wife tried to get me a pair of Crocs and I told her she would be wasting her time as I flat out refuse to wear something so ridiculous looking.
My wife was watching some show where they asked a style expert when it was appropriate to wear Crocs. Answer: When you've given up on life.
At least there's a function to this. It's no popped pink collar. The "Opti-Grab" Steve Martin made and lost millions on this invention in the late 70's. Apparently it can make you cross-eyed.
I don't understand the hate on Crocs. Around the house, out by the pool, out by the lake, in and out of the boat, at the beach, they are the perfect footwear. Lite, comforable, waterproof and airy. I'm not concerned with outward appearances, I'm concerned with comfort and practicality. I was a doubter until I tried a pair. Now in the situations stated above they are my footware of choice. People hate on what they don't know.
I'd rather be barefoot in those situations. MAYBE some flip-flops. I see the practicality of them in certain situations, but I've already got my own solutions to those predicaments. Crocs just aren't appealing enough to make me switch.
I wear my crocs at the lake house. I could care less what people think of how they look, they are comfortable. DD
I used to hate on them but my sister who's a doctor wears them all the time and apparently so do a majority of doctors. They need comfy shoes and Crocs do it for them. I understand why people wear em, I don't and probably won't wear them but I can understand.
