Novak is a "final possession, need a three-pointer" kind of player. You don't want him playing during any defensive possessions, if you can help it.
He still looks lost to me, if he ran with a purpose or blocked out hard, it would be one thing but he still looks out of place on the court, at least on defense. I guess the best word to describe what I see is "Intimidated" it looks like he is scared. DD
He's not going to make the squad. Yao T-Mac Battier Scola Alston Francis Hayes James Head Mutombo Wells Brooks Snyder Butler This time he is getting in preseason is to show off to other teams who might want to give him a chance.
Who hates Novak? I definitely don't hate him. That said, IMO he is not good enough to make the final roster. Blame it on the depth of our team this year.
Seriously? I don't want anyone other than McGrady shooting that final shot, much less NOVAK. (he wouldn't be in a non-blowout game anyways in the final seconds). So doesn't that render him useless?
Because he definitely costs us more points on the defensive end than he gives us on the offensive end. I'm from Marquette. I love the guy. But we've got better players than him to give chances to.
i would actually rather have novak shoot a last 3 point shot than mcgrady. i doubt t-mac would want to shoot it either.
Luther got that cover... in the regular season anyways. In the playoffs its Tmac's shot, the others just cant handle the pressure.
Why all Alston hate? I don't hate Novak,I still see some potential in him,he has perfect release on that jump-shot even T-Mac said that. But he lacks hm... 1.Defense 2.Athleticism 3.Power 4.Speed 5.Agressivnes 6.And MAYBE desire, will and heart to play
Down three, and he's available on the bench? Sure, why not. He has one great skill, and that's catching and shooting the ball. Can't we at least grant him that?
Maybe if he shows some consistency this year. He needs some PT to really gain consistency. He's shown to be a liability on defense and not much more than a catch-and-shoot guy. If that's all he's good for, I don't understand how that's enough to warrant him a roster spot.
I wish he could get time in the Dleague. Last year would have been nice. But then maybe I am biased, I think players that get some experience down there do better faster. Harris is a Dleague guy, Chuck is a Dleague guy, those that get some time to become acclimated to the game on the lower level seem more ready to contribute when they are given the chance.
i agree. tmac would NEVER want to shoot a last second three point shot... especially in games against san antonio.
Hate? The fans watch the game, and say what they see in the court, and express their opinions. I do not see someone just hates him. Last night he made two three, which is good for him to a chance to make a roster in the team.
