Why all the hate on ZO all of a sudden?

I am a big fan of ZO and am pumped that he is attempting a comeback. I did a search for ZO articles and came up with alot that pretty much said the same things but then I found these 2 taking shots at him. One is from Peter Vescey who we all know is an idiot and the other from some FOX sports loser. I have followed ZO's entire carreer and at his prime was up there with the best centers in the league and if not for his temper would have gotten past NY a couple of times. Off the court the dude is standout, doing so much charity for foster kids and low income families. My bad, just pisses me off to see idiots dissing a good guy who probably played the game with the most intensity I have ever seen. Peace.

Here are the links to the articles:
    ZO (Fox Sports)

    ZO (P. Vescey)

So do you think Zo is in the right to call out the Nets ownership considering that he is lucky to even be getting paid at this point?

He said something along the lines of, "if I knew they were gonna make these changes, i probably wouldn't have signed." Well, Zo, they would be much better off right now without paying that huge contract.

The writers of those two particular articles, Charley Rosen and Peter Vecsey, are two of the most angry and mean-spirited scribes around.

This is, of course, why I pour over every word they write. Love those guys.

I completely agree about Rosen. Hate the way he will ride some Coach's balls (like Phil Jackson) and other Coach's ass (like JVG), but he's one of the only NBA columnists that really breaks down some of the X's and O's of the game. For that reason, I read every one of his articles no matter how annoying he gets with his Phil-love.

In terms of Vecsey, I think VecseySux put it best. His niche is supposedly as an insider that knows all the NBA trade rumors, but he has absolutely no credibility because, his info is usually totally ridiculous (i.e. overvaluing Knick Players, trades that defy the CBA rules etc.)

Zo was not signed by the current dump salary ownership. I understand his pique. Kidd's, too. What a travesty done to a two time Finals team.

If Zo is healthy Rattner, trade Zo to the Georgetown Rox -- then we'll have a 4 and emergency 5.

Yes he does have the right to call out Nets ownership. Yeah, I bet New Jersey would be better off without his contract since they would have just traded the players anyway and went on saving his money. Bottomline, I don't care if Zo is "lucky to even be getting paid at this point" or not, he signed on to play for a title contender. And when he decided to risk his body TWICE to make a comeback they salary dump the team. Last I checked nobody put a gun to New Jersey's head and made them sign Zo. And last I checked New Jersey wasn't blind to Zo's illness so Zo has every right to say what he said.

Hey, here is an idea, why doesn't Zo just give back the money and ask the Nets to tear up his contract so that he can go wherever he wants.

Technically they can't just tear up his contract. But they can buy him out for an agreed upon sum. Most players wouldn't give up guaranteed money to become a free agent. But it's happened before so you never know.

I wasn't a big fan of him signing with New Jersey in the first place. I thought he should have stayed with the Heat who were loyal to him all along but the Heat were crap and he felt he could help the Nets get over the hump. I think, if healthy he can be a 16 ppg 8rbg guy especially with no K. Martin. I hope they trade him to a contender though.
