I am sure the Rockets is Tmac's team for now but I got the feeling, a few year down the road, the Rockets will be Yao's team. Tmac may remain the first option but watching Yao develops, saw his leadership in CNT, how he behaves since he came back, I think when he got enough confidence, he will be the true leader of the Rockets.
It has always been T-Mac's and Yao's team. I am glad that Yao is starting to feel like it is as much as his team as T-Mac's and is starting to show that in the last few games. As long as these two are on the team the Rockets will eventually win some Championships.
This is T-Mac and Yao's team. I hope they can communicate more on the court and pump each other up when either one is off.
I really like Yao's game ever since he came back from injury. He probally was able to grasp a better understanding of the game/his role while he was out. It's like what alot of bbs'ers already said, it seems that he's finally emerging as a leader.
This team is built around the two guys, if one of them is not playing well, the whole system collapses.
I agree it is already Tmac / Yao's team and there is no need to stir the pot. Yao has been taking a back seat to TMac but lately has been emerging as a leader himself. Im glad Yao is letting his game speak for itself. J
A team of they both. Given their characteristics, I don;t see any problem with Yao and TM to share the leadership. Two leaders are always better than one if they know their responsibilities and respect each other. Actually, I think Yao and TM complement each other very well. Yao is the core of defense in the paint and and TM is a very good perimeter defenser. Yao can carry the team up to the third quater while TM comes out and finishes the game.
We don't need this type of thinking. In LA. Shaq's "MY team" crap was ridiculous and alienated the owner, fans, and Kobe. Tmac is the best player on the team. How about that?
The whole thing is Yao is realizing that when TMac is hurting or is off that he has to take some of that pressure off TMac. That's what leadership is. The thing that is going to be great about Yao, the one quality that he has that Hakeem had to learn, is that he will get the ball to the player that is hot. It doesn't matter to him. If Wesley is lighting it up, Yao will feed him the ball until he starts missing. The thing that is different now is Yao is realizing he is the best option when TMac is off and nobody else is hot and is just taking the shot. Keep it up big fella.
I always thought it was Elie's team. Maybe it was Cassell's. Houston- 2 rings Milwaukee- ECF Minnesota- WCF Los Angeles- ?
I agree that this team was built around both of our allstars but I don't think they both have to be playing well every night. Obviously if both are dominating then the wins would come a lot easier. I think that having them on the floor at the same time is what actually benefits the team the most since they both command double coverage it creates havoc on the opposing defense and creating offensive opportunities for the entire team.
I don't understand why we keep seeing this kind of threads. It has been said thousands of times by hundreds of posters here that this team needs both of them. They are both the leaders of this team. And if you really need to know, the answer to your question is Mr. Leslie Alexander.
It seems that Yao is quietly becoming more of a co-#1 option on this team rather than option 1A that he was before. I could envision a Shaq/Kobe relationship on the court where both players share roughly equal burden. I really doubt Yao can ever dwarf T-Mac in being the #1 option. But then again, it wasn't that long ago when people didn't think Yao could ever be the #1 option on a winning team. Yet he has been just that since coming back from injury, carrying the team with T-Mac not shooting well.
