My guess is Boki will have to go back to deep freeze on the bench when Pike gets back. If Boki can continue to develop, maybe he can earn the minutes back, but he's certainly not a complete player yet.

I also think Moochie's minutes will be reduced; I wouldn't expect to see Steve-Cat-Mooch all on the court at the same time as much.

Pike will cut into Boki's and Cat's minutes. Cat has been playing 40 + minutes a night, that should be cut be at least 5-10 minutes to keep him from tiring out or injuring himself. Boki will probly be benched more and Mooch may even have some of his minutes taken away.

Cat mostly. I see a lot of situations where Pike comes in, JJ slides to the two and Cat has a seat. You guys had to know Boki wasn't going to get any serious playing time after Pike and Ag came back, this is no shock.

JJ showed last nite that he can handle the point-forward duties capably. So when Pike comes back let him play the wing, let JJ bring the ball up and distribute, and CUT MOOCH.

orlando may be the last time we see boki play for a while. pike and jj will split time, each earning 24 minutes of play. even though they will play together sometimes thats how JVG's rotation works out.

cat will be reduced fro 42 to an average of 30 minues, wth ag picking up the extra quater of tme.

A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bushes. I have not seen what Pike can do on this team. There are enough minutes to go around and his return, if successful, will allow each player to play less minutes but most likely increase their output/production per minute.

    Don't cut the Mooch.

Make Charlotte realize this man was born to be a Bobcat.

There is no way Cat plays less than 35 minutes. Cat is our best perimeter defender and JVG is prone to having a short rotation. There is a reason why Cat is playing more minutes than even Francis. Moochies and Boki will get the biggest cut with 3-4 minutes coming from Cat just to get him more rest. As Gimp stated JJ will get more ball handling duties also.

On a different note, has anyone noticed that Cat often gets the ball at the top of the key to start the half court set which allows Francis to move around screens like an off guard.

I am hoping Moochie's with Mobley playing "point" in Francis's bench time.

Thank you. It seems so many people are blinded by their inexplicable hatred of Mobley that they won't even recognize what is playing out before them. In the first 4 games, you've got Francis and Jackson who can take minutes away from Mobley, but Mobley is still averaging 39 minutes, compared to Francis' 36.25 and Jackson's 34.25. If Mobley is killing the team so bad, why does Van Gundy play him like he's indispensible?

Pike will cut into Mobley's minutes and some of Boki/Jackson's minutes, but I am betting mostly Mobley's minutes so he doesn't average 40 for the whole year. Look for Mobley to drop to about 35-38 minutes a game with Pike getting 6-8 minutes at the two and probably 2-3 minutes at the 3. These are just averages, I think there will be some nights when he gets more and some when he gets less. I am looking for an average of about 10 a game from him. After all, Francis will get some time at the two too.

I think we will see more of Pike when we have those nights where we need the three point shooting when Mobley has the off night that we all know will happen and can't hit the broad side of the barn or when Jackson has the same problems. He'll be out there when we need to stretch the defense because there is a zone or Yao is getting majorly double teamed or the defense is purposely heavily clogging the lane to stop Francis from scoring.

Boki should continue to play. We have the luxury of playing minutes without it hurting the team. He has performed well and he is doing what the coach ask him to; no need to then send him back on the bench.

How will Pike take Moochies minutes?

Mooch is the back-up point guard. When Francis isn't in Mooch will be in.

Why must this be the case? If Cato can be a PF, why can't Cat be a PG?

JVG played Steve/Mooch/Cat at the same time a little. I don't expect to see that once Pike is back.

I'd also like to say except for the first quarter of the first game, Cat is playing exceptionally well this season and seems to be more under control. It's great that he's also earning respect on D.

BTW, I have no idea when either of them are coming back, it was just a question that popped into my mind when looking at the box score.
