I know I'll get a beating for this thread but what the heck..

I think bottom line is, Cuban simply outspent Les.. Or in other words, Les is a cheapskate..

Les could have spent more money on players around Yao and Tmac.. irregardless of the cap.. but I don't don't exactly know how much the mavs are over the cap and how much luxury tax Cuban paid..

Les could have put clappers, bricks, all other toys for everyone during games 3 & 4.. we should have at least won one of those..

and partly to coaching staff.. again especially game 3.. we were up 10 but still don't know how they let mavs get back..

as for game 7 - first quarter, since we cannot solely depend on perimeter shots going in, we should have pounded the ball to yao at least he has more than 50% chance on making it or have the guys penetrate and at least get a foul.. I know we don't get that much defensively from yao, at least get the most out of him from offense while he's in the game.. and as for the defense, they should have made hard fouls to stop penetration and have better penetration defense..

    just my opinion..

    Rudy. :D

The wasted pick on Griffin. Horrendous signing MoTay, Mooch to ridiculous long term.

Okay, so tonight Yao & T-Mac were 23-49, and the rest of the team was 6-33. Basically the supporting cast had an off night.

I'm thinking this thread is a weeeeee bit reactionary... especially considering one of our highest-paid players was injured for the entirety of the series, while Dallas was relatively healthy. How can you call Les "cheap" for being outspent, when I think most agree that this series was ours with a healthy Juwan? That's bad luck, not "cheapness."

You hit the nail on the head.

The nail should have hit you on the head.

Its regardless. Irregardless is not a word. The rest of this makes as much sense as irregardless.

I agree that we all need bricks......so that we have something blunt to throw at you for starting this thread.

    Wow, you're actually still here?

This is the only thing that you posted that actually wasn't ignorant.

You know what they say opinions are like. And yes, yours stinks.

It takes time to get to a $100 milllion payroll. You have to give Finley $100 million and then Dirk the max. You have to pay Walker and Jamison, then trade them for better parts. I'm pretty sure Terry has at least a $60 million deal. Who exactly are we going to overpay this year? Padgett? Wesley? You cannot possibly blame Les for this loss. It takes time to build a team, folks. I don't think enough people are appreciative enough of what the team accomplished. We are a two man team with a bunch of old roleplayers. It might work when Yao and Tmac become more dominant in the future, but we need a 3rd scorer. Stop trying to blame someone for the loss and appreciate what we accomplished this year.

so you want to find fault after we won 2 straight road playoff games ?

well I have to admit going up 2-0 was especially sweet because I never expected it.. surely I'm not going to complain at that time..

How about no one is to blame. Why does someone always have to be blamed? Maybe we were finally beat after playing above our talent level, and we will come back next year with another piece and a stronger team.

Don't forget to click "O, worst" on your little thread rating.

but you want to find fault because we lost 4-3 in a best of 7 as an underdog?

and at least try to bark up the RIGHT tree.

Tell me this: How many championships do Cuban have right now for his spending? How many times has his team gone to the Finals? Will they even get to the Finals this year?

And look at our roster before the season started and look at it now. We brought in Deke, Barry, Wesley, and James. Les could have easily said no when we were 6-11.

He ain't the most generous owner but blaming him for the the supporting casts' 16 total points in game 7 is a bit of a stretch.

Personally, I was thinking about blaming whoever it is that starts a Game 7 @ 8:30 PM CST on a Saturday. And then holds it up slightly to finish another oddly timed game on the East Coast.

But then, the thought just random came to me...maybe we're just a year or two away from being a serious threat...how 'bout we lock this thread until after the next playoffs?

The shorter easier list to compile is who not to blame...

T-Mac & Yao. The rest of the team pretty much gets a giant F in game 7.

I definitely with that on Yao and Tmac.. but can't blame the role players.. they were going against terry and stackhouse who were stars in their previous teams.. and howard who is a lot more athletic..

    This thread blows!

But since I am here, just wanted to let you know that Les Alexander did say a few weeks back that winning is his priority, and not making money. Needless to say, those words will be tested this off season.

    1. irregardless is not a word.

    2. Les may not spend the kind of money Cuban spends, but he doesn't HAVE that kind of money either. Les Alexander is nowhere near as rich as Mark Cuban. I don't there there are but two or three owners in the NBA who are on the same level of wealth Cuban is. I'd be interested in seeing a list that examines the worth of NBA owners. I'd guess Paul Allen is the wealthiest owner. Cuban is probably second though.... If not, probably Dolan who owns the Knicks.
