Being completely honest and without any bias. Antonio Gates. No competition.

Even though I love my boy Open Daniels. I would say it has to be Gates. Even though last couple of weeks he has ruined my fantasy team by always going inactive at the last moment.

I would say Gonzalez is better at catching clutch first down passes but overall Gates is a better TE. (and I'm a Falcons fan)

Daniels is a pro bowl tight end when healthy and he would've been up there. Just has been unfortunate with injuries the past two years.

    Gates is the best.

I think Finley and Clark are right behind him.

Davis needs a QB who can get him the ball.

Anyone who doesn't say Gates is probably a homer.

    Gates, without too many questions.

There are so many good or very quality TEs in the NFL, right now, it's not even funny. This is truly the "Golden Age for TE."

    Antonio Gates
    Jason Whitten
    Owen Daniels
    Vernon Davis
    Tony Gonzalez
    Todd Heap
    Dallas Clark
    Brent Celek
    Dustin Keller
Aaron Hernandez/Rob Gronokowski/Alge Crumpler (in decline though)
    Heath Miller
    Kevin Boss
    Visanthe Shiancoe
Kellen Winslow (He would have better numbers with better or more experience QB)
    Anthony Fasano

sure there is. Just because he isn't the focal point of Atlanta's offense doesn't mean he isn't better.

He has always had better hands than Gates. He is a better run blocker, he is 10x more physical than Gates and he is an amazing route runner. Gates might be a better athlete, but he isn't a better TE.

Tony Gonzales isn't an all time great TE. He is THE all time great TE.

What's best in reference to? Is production going to be favored over blocking ability? Where's the mention of Mercedes Lewis?

All about situation. For example, Mercedes Lewis would go nuts in Indianapolis.

Gates will break all of Gonzalez records. Even the receptions. Better hands? no.

better run blocker? Gates was a big reason for LT's success in San Diego, so was Gonzo with Larry Johsnon so draw. Better route runner? That's Gates best quality. No. Way. 10x more physical? LOL you can argue that gates is as physical, 10x's is just stupid.

Homerism at it's best ladies and gentlemen.

If we were talking about blocking Brandon Manumaleunkenibwsna (sp?) would take it.
