If the game is played 1on1, who would win the most of times. Please explain. By the way, I didn't put Francis there in case of home cooking might occur. Yao Ming? You know he'd win it all.
this comes down to the big men guarding the guards, and the guards trying to steal one from the big men, just once. it's like playing nine ball...you only get one miss. one on one, make it take it...my money is on Iverson.
remember Shaq has to start his dribble from the arc. In the past, I always had fun with the Bird, Magic, MJ, Barkley (the young, spry Charles) argument.
I voted Dirk. He can post up the smaller guards, go right by the bigs like Duncan, and drain threes all day long if they give him room.
i'd have to say garnett. he can defend the smaller players and he can score on the big ones. it's almost a tie with shaq because shaq will score almost everytime against those guys. i mean if you put shaq 1 on 1 against iverson who would win? shaq all day.
nobody can guard shaq. iverson is fast, but a big man wil give him the shot, and he wil mis some shots, and he can't gaurd a big man, so he won't miss. i voted shaq
According to several 'experts', from players like Garnett, Miller, Iverson, Malone etc. to coaches like Rudy T, Riley, Sloane, etc. the best 1 on 1 player in the game isn't even on the list. Remember the last Olympics? Before they began Rudy ran a 1 on 1 tournament, to see who would be "The Man" for the team...Players took it very seriously...and this guy, who's not even on the list, killed everyone one on one, including Garnett 21-7 in the 'finals'...Now I know that not everyone on the list was there, but come on... Oh, and a hint...before this guy got hurt, he was considered the best at going to the hoop...and was a 40% 3 pt shooter, which none of Iverson, McGrady, or Kobe have ever been. Not bad for a 1 on 1 player, huh?
Marbury is one of the hardest to guard too. He gets to the hole and finishes like no other. He's the only guard that can go head up with Iverson.
I thought about him, but his ability has been reduced since his injury, and if you count him in, you might well add Grand Hill, Zo and Penny into the mix.
Who cares? The NBA is supposed to be team basketball, but the way the refs ref, it is an iso game. I'd say McGrady because he led the league in scoring, and basically he plays one on one to score all the time.
The answer is Shaq. He is the only guy who could average 35 ppg on 70% shooting if you single cover him. Iverson would still be shooting under 50% I bet. Plus Shaq gets you in foul trouble a lot more.
Could someone imagine Moochie playing 1 on 1. oh boy, there sure would be some head fakes, jukes, crossovers and an awful lot of dribbling!! and its make it take it? poor opponent
Can Shaq take the ball in from beyond top of the key? I bet a guard can swipe it away more than once.
What if he just backs the guard in? Shouldn't be too hard. He's slower than guards but he can dribble a little bit. The guard would be forced to trying to steal the ball around and Shaq, and that aint easy.
