Is Maurice Taylor still the best shooter at the PF? By the sounds of it, Kenny is may give him a run for his money. And, it sound that Griffin is still camping out at the 3 point line.

So, who's the best shooter at the PF?

Kenny "Mad Dawg" Thomas was very consitant from about 20ft last year, and his ability to beat his man off the dribble make him dangerous out beyound the paint. Griffin has nice touch but his release is to slow. I think it's a question of mechanics for Eddie. Maurice has always been a solid jump shooter but his inability to beat his man off the dribble make him one dimensional.

I think Eddie's the best shooter. He doesn't have to have a quick release because of his height. His release is more fluid than Mo Taylor's and he is also a better 3-point shooter.

    Rudy T... ;)

Seriously I think EG is going to be the best, right now MT is. EG is working toward passing him up though...

The only thing I saw Kenny consistently doing last year from 20 feet was throwing up bricks.

This isn't a question of overall the best player... but rather shooting, and I don't think there's any doubt it's Mo Taylor, right now. Yeah, I read what Clutch had to report from today's practice, but let's wait for KT to make all these 17 footers in a game before we crown him the best shooter.

It seems like a lot of you really forgot about Mo Taylor, and just how good of a shooter he was. For a shooter that shot so many shots from 16 feet out, shooting almost 50% from the field is a remarkable achievement. When he is open from the perimeter, that shot is money. I'm more confident in Mo's 18 footer than any other player on the team, by far. It's that reliable.

Also, I'm not sure where you got the idea that he can't beat his man off the dribble. One of Mo's primary strengths was just how well he could handle the ball from the perimeter, and make something happen. Yeah, I know Kenny does this too, but it is still a very, very rare trait in a big man.

Griffin is a pretty good shooter, but let's not get carried away. He didn't even shoot over 40% for the season. When he gets hot, he's hot, but there were several stretches where he was very cold.

The only thing I can figure out is that some of you have forgotten a lot about Mo in the past year and a half. Solid doesn't even begin to describe his shot... from 20 feet in, he's probably the best shooter on our entire team. It's not to say that he's necessarily the best player of these three... but when it comes down to pure shooting, there's really no contest right now.

He's not a better shooter than Rice when healthy, but I do agree he is damn good and right up there with any power forward in the league.

Griffin w/ a post game would be the best shooter on the Rockets. If he still hasn't made a "huge" leap in that category, then the honor goes to Taylor.

Two years ago that bank shot that he had from just beyond the free throw line was great. If he still has that in him, I'm sure we still have some use for him.

Right now it's Mo T, but eventually EG will pass him up.

Oh my gawd, Mo Taylor, duh! I've seen Kenny clang more shots off the rim than he has made. Way more. Eddie was a sweet stroker from the 3, but how many wide open mid range j's did he make last season, like 10 all year? Mo Taylor, no contest.

    I will go with Eddie.

This probably has to a lot with not seeing Mo play in forever.

Mo has the softest touch from 20 ft and in. KT is automatic from 17-20 but seems to miss quite a few easy shots during the game. EG has only really shown his three point range.

It's obvious who has been watching the Rockets the past two years and who has not. Cat hit the nail on the head. From inside the arc its not even close. MoT easily has a more consistant shot than Kenny or Eddie.

And ricerocket, I'll put MoT's 16 - 18 foot jumper against Rice's any day of the week.

Are we talking about the same Kenny Thomas that plays for the Rockets?

Kenny, Griffin & MO T in order!

But Kenny at 6'7" is far dangerous of them all!

No contest its Mo Taylor, dood can rain jumpers from the outside and can break some ankles with than viscious crossover that most everyone forgets about.

He may not play great D or rebound, but MoTay's mid-range J is as money as they come for a PF.

EG does have a nice 10-15ft jumper from the baseline as well as some nice bankshots from closer in, but needs to get more consistent.

KT can be streaky and have his jumper going some games, and then goes on a brickfest in others. Plus to me at least, his form is all messed up w/ that hitch in his shot.
