Mutombo Chuck Hayes Steve Novak Ryan Bowen Luther Head Those are the players under contract for next season that are not slated to start (Yao, Howard, Battier, Tmac, Alston) There is only Head and Novak that have any semblence of scoring ability and no point guard unlesss head plays it and no 2 guard if head is playing the point. Even though i think our starting 5 is improved ( Battier for Wesley) our bench has lost athleticism, scoring, and size as our best big off the bench is gone. Look at Mutombo's numbers... This year he played 15 minutes a game (same as last year) he averaged 2.6 points, 4.8 rebonds and 0.9 blocks per game. He is 40 years old. After that Chuck Hayes, as hard as he works, he isn't gonna knock any shots down... so its up to a second round pick Novak and an undersized 2 guard to carry this bench? lets hope Tmac's back is healthy and Yao's stamina is good.
Well, we still have the MLE and a decent sized TE, but I can't say I'm pleased with the way things are looking right now.
He wants a better contract and guaranteed playing time. I don't think he'll be back now we've got Battier.
