It's just hard to take someone's movie seriously who has such a skewed view of history. Especially if the movie is about history. Being descended of Robert the Bruce, I did some reading on Braveheart and wow did he completely change the reality of those events. It's just a movie though so it's hard to care all that much.

Mel Gibson is an assclown, and I refuse to pay money to see his "work".

I've heard this movie is insanely - like more than passion of the christ insanely - violent and gory. Anyone else heard this?

Yea, I heard this is the most violent non-horror film ever. I'm going be watching it on opening night.

I have a solution. You can pay your $7.50 to buy a ticket to Happy Feet, and then sneak ino Apocalypto.

No thanks. My family went to go see Happy Feet while I was up in New Jersey for Thanksgiving. My 14 year old niece and I hit the shopping mall instead.

And Mel Gibson is still a first-rate assclown with impeccable assclown credentials.

I got that impression. I'll pass, and I really love historical flicks. I think Gibson has developed a passion for gore. I don't mind if it's really needed for the story (the landing at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan, for example), but one can create life and death drama without coating the screen with blood and entrails.

ill watch it if i can get a torrent copy. I'm not giving any dime to Mel anymore. It's not piracy if you're pirating it from a another pirate.

I don't know how you put "it's a good movie" in both yes answers. I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know if it's any good. But I do want to see it.

Or if you live in College Station where tickets are only $4.00, you can buy a beer at the theater for $3.00 and drink it while you watch the film to help ease mind that it's a Mel Gibson movie.

God I love the Beer and a movie for $7.00.

Mel Gibson is cool, but the movie doesn't look cool.
