Some people are really dumb, and they get paid to be! Here are a few examples:

    Bill Walton wrote on MSNBC:

[The Rockets are]a team with a decent amount of talent that had a bizarre season, mostly because of the injuries to Hakeem Olajuwon, whose career might be nearing an end. That will leave a monstrous void in the middle, and there is no easy solution to fixing that. The Rockets do pick ninth, and they could have a shot at Chris Mihm or Stromile Swift. With Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley, the Rockets have scoring at shooting guard. After a big body, a point guard might come in handy. Houston might wind up with Detroit's 14th pick or Phoenix's 25th. The Rockets would be wise to use the latter of those two on someone such as Erick Barkley, Scoonie Penn or Mateen Cleaves. The Rockets will not sit on their 34-48 showing in 1999-2000. They figure to be one of the more active teams in the offseason.

Uh, earth to Bill ... Steve Francis is a point guard, as are Moochie Norris AND Bryce Drew!

Michael Ventre writes in his Mock Draft:

The Rockets have several needs, but one of the more pressing ones is lack of a quality big man. Yes, that's right. Hakeem Olajuwon is on his last legs as a viable NBA center. Moiso is raw but extremely talented and has worked out well for teams. In two years of working with Olajuwon and Rudy Tomjanovich, Moiso could reach his potential, which is saying something.

Two years? Did I miss Hakeem re-upping for 2001-2? [IMG]

USA TODAY NBA writer Roscoe Nance's mock draft says of Houston:

Needs shooting guard. Pick -- guard DerMarr Johnson.

Not a bad pick, but with Shandon and (probably) Cat at SG, he'd be a SF for us.

Bryan McGovern wrote in the Boston Globe:

If Miles is gone, the Rockets could look towards Florida underclassman Mike Miller.

"If?" Both of these guys will be gone in the top 7!

    Sigh. [IMG]

In my opinion Bill Walton is the biggest idiot in broadcasting...and it takes a lot to surpass Bob Costas and Peter "Satan" Vescey.

I just saw that Walton nonsense, was about to post about it, and saw your topic.

That is just plain ignorant. Yeah, we are set at sg with Francis and Mobley (I guess Anderson is a 3, Bill?)

We would be much better off if we drafted

"Speedy" Claxton and had a rotation of:

    Olajuwon/Cato

    Thomas/Massenburg

    Williams/Anderson

    Francis/Mobley/Anderson

    Claxton/Mococh

At least Walton is actually entertaining these days. I couldn't stand his corny ass in the early to mid 90's.

Costas in nothing but the NBA's "YES" man and Peter Vescey....well, need I say more.

We need some meat in the post and I don't mean Brian Grant!
