Heading there tonight. The menu is all over the place. Trying to find out some good recommendations over there.
It's been a while, but i do remember people saying those were good. I think i went conservative with some chicken plate.
lobster quesadillas are off the chain over there. that's where my current girlfriend and I had our first date. We go back every year to celebrate our anniversary.
I love the chicken enchiladas there. I tried the chile rellano last time though and didn't like anything about it. Mak usually gets this vegetable plate they have and every item on there is really good.
Damnit. Help me out here. I don't see the lobster quesadillas on the menu. http://www.hugosrestaurant.net/dinner.html
Get the chapulines if you aren't a wimp Chapulines – pan sautéed grasshoppers served with guacamole, tortillas and chipotle tomatillo salsa 8.
Barbacoa – lamb marinated in chiles, onion, garlic and avocado leaves, then slow roasted in agave skin and served with chopped onion, fresh cilantro and warm tortillas Was great. I had a roast rabbit there several years ago that was fantastic.
Alright guys. WTF?!? They don't have lobster quesadillas there. I talked to the manager and they've never had them. The closest thing to it was a lobster taquito appetizer. It was decent, but hardly a meal. Where the hell did that come from?
I ended up going with the manager's suggestion which was Cochinita Pibil. It was edible. That's about all I can say. Wasn't impressed. She got a stuffed tenderloin and that wasn't actually too bad. But for those prices, I'll just go to a steakhouse next time.
Might wanna reconsider... my girl and i got hammered on their margaritas on our first date... we dared each other to order the grasshoppers during our entree in a drunken stupor... we did and proceeded to fall in love over grasshopper antennae and legs...
Went there on a Sunday when they had a buffet. Their pulled pork amazingly delish and juicy...dunno what they called it though since we didnt really glance at menu cause of the buffet that was available. Their Sangria's are amazing too!
I remember taking my wife (back when we were experimenting with mescaline and whippits) to this place back when it was known as Hugo's. Drinks were OK, and the service was just average. What really stuck out, however, was the main course. I don't remember the name of the entree, but it was an appetizing combination of some kind of shellfish, melted cheese and chopped veggies - all tucked into a warm tortilla. I wish I could help you out, and recall the actual name of the dish, but I simply cannot. Sorry.
