like the title says, whos autograph do you have? i have yao mings, when he came to the NBA store in NYC to do the book signing in November 2004, skipped last two classes that day to get it. rudy guiliani's i got it when i was still in junoir high. nothing big.
Nolan Ryan is the only autograph I have. He's a distant cousin of mine. I wrote him a letter when i was a kid and he sent me an autographed picture.
Clyde Drexler autograph. Vida Blue autograph baseball card. Nolan Ryan Baseball autograph. A.C. Green basketball autograph. I accidently used it though playing basketball on my driveway, and it's my current game ball I use still when shooting hoops. Needless to say the autograph has disappeared due to the wear and tear.
Jeff Bagwell, Nolan Ryan, Ken Griffey Jr., Gale Sayers, Doug Dawson, Ken Caminiti, Will Clark and countless others... I also have a ball signed by the entire 1992 Houston Astros (even Orbit). I was given a black eye while going for a foul ball on the first base line at the Dome, Bagwell & Biggio converged along with myself (was 12 at the time) and a "grown man fan"... I caught the ball while standing on the first row and was elbowed in the eye by the "grown man"... he broke my glasses and in return I got a check for 300 bucks from the Astros (for new glasses) and I kept the ball and had it autographed after the game by the team, I even managed to get Orbit and Larry Dierker's autograph on it too... I snagged Dierker's after I saw him walking to his car, he was suprised I knew who he was. The coolest part too was I have a black eye in my 8th grade yearbook picture
i've always thought the idea of clamoring to get someone to sign their name on some crappy paraphernalia is stupid.
Cliff Branch (former Raider receiver) is friends with a girl I work with and he came to the office one day. He gave me his autograph and let me try on his Superbowl ring. My Dad has a copy of the official box score from Game 7 against the knicks signed by all the players and Rudy. He won't give it to me.
I have a Harry Caray autographed, press pack from a game I worked at the Astrodome in 92. It's signed "Holy Cow", of course. I have a Redd Foxx autographed headshot. I have a Walter Payton, I got when I met him at a UI Black vs. Gold game a long time ago. I have a Jim Rose autograph, that I actually got twice. I interviewed him for my college radio station in 93, and he gave me one that said "Make the jaded faint". It got lost when I moved back down here. He was kind enough to give me another when he was at the Laff Stop a few years ago. It's the first thing you see when you sit at my desk. I have alot of others, stage people I've worked with, music acts I met doing the college radio thing, and working overhire for ESPN, but those four are the best.
We've got just about all the Disney characters. (Those who have been to DWorld know what I'm talking about.) I have autograph editions of the following books:
"E.A.R.L." - Rapper DMX's story is crazy!!! "It's Not About The Bike" - Lance Armstrong's story, very inspiring!!!
Joe DiMaggio Mickey Mantle Ted Williams Willie Mays Sandy Kofax Hank Aaron Harmon Killebrew Carl Yastrzemski Nolan Ryan Ernie Banks Stan Musial Bob Feller Duke Snider Eddie Matthews Dale Murphy Al Kaline Jim Palmer Ozzie Smith Steve Garvey Brooks Robinson Barry Bonds Alex Rodriguez Ken Griffey Jr Brian Giles Javey Lopez Rafael Palmeiro Lance Berkman About 20 baseball HOFers that most haven't heard of (Carl Hubbell, Gabby Hartnett, Heinie Manush, Stanley Coveleski, Freddie Lindstrom, Lou Boudreau, Luke Appling, Joe Sewell, Charles Gehringer, Llyod Waner, Joe Cronin, Ray Dandridge, Monte Irvin, Max Carey, Edd Roush, Judy Johnson, James "Cool Papa" Bell etc). A bunch (20-40) of Spring Training Autos (Lew Ford, Sean Casey, Jason LaRue, Vernon Wells, etc and quite a few "who?" ) I have a piece of paper with about 20 1969 Kansas City Chief autos (Buck Buchanan, Bobby Bell, Jan Stenerud, etc (no Len Dawson though). I have a hat with about 20 NHRA autos including Don Garlits, Don Prudhomme, John Force, Joe Gibbs, Warren Johnson, Joe Amato, Kenny Bernstein, Shirley Muldowney, etc. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch but that's all I can think of. Oh and Dan Rather is around here somewhere. The other day, I got Mikhail Gorbachev's auto by mistake. My wife says I have a problem. Yea, my problem is that I have about 200 more to go to complete my collection and Walter Johnson is going to cause a "discussion".
