OK, so this is a multi-choice poll. I've picked the 4 most likely candidates - McCain & Romney on the GOP side, Clinton & Obama on the Dem side - and created the 4 possible matchups.

Please pick one of the first two options, one of the next two, one of the 3rd set, and one of the 4th. I'm curious how this will all break down.

This is, of course, based on what we know/feel about the candidates today. Obviously, that could change once a general election campaign were to happen.

People aren't doing this right. There are now 7 voters, there should be 28 total, there is only 25.

Some people may be abstaining. I abstained from Clinton/Romney, because I'm not sure I could bring myself to vote for either. In that scenario, I'd hope for a Bloomberg to join.

Here is my stance basically summed up in once sentance:

I'll vote for Obama against anyone and I'll vote against Clinton. For me, it doesn't matter who the republican is, all that matters to me is whether or not it is Obama or Clinton.

After carefully reviewing these results, NBC is now ready to call Frank Stallone the winner of the 2008 Presidential Election.

This is kind of what I'm hoping to figure out from his poll - how much Anti-Hillary vote is out there, even from the Democratic side. I'm basically identical to where MadMax is (and mostly you) - I'm not sure what I'd do in Hillary/Romney, but the other three are easy.

The more folks find out about Romney, the more they will like him. He gets stuff DONE. The guy was elected governor of Massachusetts, as a Republican - imagine that for a second.

You know, given the negativity and scrutiny that any serious candidate will get, I think you'd feel that way bout just about any four people in these positions at this point...

But I hear you, even so...

    maybe, maybe no

    Very true.

I've said it before, his campaign slogan should be: "I may not stand for anything, but I'm an effective *******."

I'm very close to this position except I won't vote for Romney over Clinton; I'll abstain. I'm still not totally sold on Obama but as of now I'd choose him over any of the Republicans.

If it's Clinton vs. Romney, I hope Bloomberg runs because he would get my vote as a protest against the other two.

true, but its not only the negativity. I dont follow all the coverage that closely (it is just overkill most of the time) and do take the negative knocks very lightly.

hillary scares me with her policy. Obama is likable, I just don't think it is his time...maybe in another 8 years he could be very strong. I think mccain is a 'good guy' but he isnt a great politician (which may actually be a good thing) and mitt...i havent paid too much attention because after the news gets done talking about hillary and obama I am over it and go back to the history channel

a sad crop indeed, and whats even more sad is that this should be a slam dunk for Dems but im honestly thinking that they are going to hang themselves before its all said and done.

If Bloomberg runs, that would help the GOP.

I don't quite get the hate on Romney though. Most people are just starting to get to know him.

If Bloomberg runs, GAME OVER for the democrats. Count on another 8 years of Republican rule.

Romney is one of the most successful businessmen of his generation. He is a true leader with accomplishments in business, politics, and charity. McCain is a war hero of the highest magnitude and an accomplished man of integrity. He is a veteran of many political cycles and has led over decades.

Clinton is a lying, conniving, power hungry, manipulative con-artist. Obama is a motivational speaker and a good narrator on a movie. All sizzle and no steak.

If the Bush hatred did not factor into this race, America would quickly see how mismatched these two democrats are against these two tremendous Republican candidates.
