the celtics embarrassed the rockets when they broke our streak, they were up by 20+ and they had all their starters in the game and kept pouring it on. ****in pathetic team, go lakers!

My current preferences are: Pistons > Celtics > Lakers

    I'll painfully go for Kobe.

Nothing against Kobe, I just don't like how they stole Gasol. That trade is real fishy to me.

Also, KG has turned from wanting to earn a championship to acting like he's owed one.

Shocking steroid investigation by the Senate, NSA, and Free Masons, led by, (you guessed it) Frank Stallone, which shuts down the NBA just before the tip off of game 7.

    This ones easy....Kobe.

Love him or hate him, he is about playing as hard as he possibly can and trying to win at all costs.

I'd love to see LA vs Celtics in the finals, see Kobe demolish the Celts, KG go missing and a series sweep to the Lakers.

Get over it. Some of you guys act like Gasol is Michael Jordan. I remember tons of posts on this board from previous years saying how bad Gasol sucked and how he looked gay/goofy running down the court, Yao owned him, etc.. etc.. etc... Now Kobe finally catches a break, gets a "Decent" player added to the team to help him out and everyone freaks out.

Kobe is the reason this team is here, not Gasol. Give the man credit where credit is due. Kobe has cleaned up his image, he's a good guy, he's not so selfish anymore, he isn't covered in tatoos out gangbangin every weekend. He's the best player any of us have ever seen since Jordan. The Kobe haters act like Gasol is a superstar all-start caliber player and he simply is NOT. Its just that the Lakers' support cast has been so god awful over the past years that getting a decent big man in there like Gasol has made a difference.

Not to mention the Lakers WERE in first place with Bynum before they ever got Gasol. Bynum was coming into his own. But let's be real - the Lakers aren't were they are right now because of Bynum nor Gasol, they are here because of Kobe. The MVP of the NBA. - out

The Lakers would not have held on to first with Kwame Brown on their roster. I can't get over the trade because no one else has. People are glamouring the return of the Lakers because of a great trade. I'll criticize it as long as people praise it.

Pau Gasol is a huge upgrade to that team. Their gain was all positive...they lost NOTHING. As a matter of fact, they gained more than what they got by getting rid of Brown.

You think defenders would stay on Kwame Brown when Kobe drives to the basket? Gasol creates the space Kobe needs, which isn't much, to drive to the basket. Even if defenders leave Kwame, do you think he'd hit the shot or even know what to do with it? Gasol can hit that shot and is a great finisher around the basket.

Gasol is more than "decent." Scola, Fisher, Kurt Thomas...those are decent players. Gasol is a former all-star only because of injuries and playing for a sorry team, has experience as being the focal point of an offense, and has an all around game at 7-feet tall. That is more than decent.

I'll bet you couldn't get Gasol for Scola right now. The trade was a complete giveaway.

If you think Gasol has nothing to do with this run, then you're not giving credit where it's due. And I don't think anyone is comparing Pau Gasol to Michael Jordan in ANY way

It's a team sport. Without Gasol, they would be still #7 seed in WC.

I disagree. Maybe 3rd or 4th, but not 7th. Just curious. Where would they be without Kobe? Worst in the NBA?

They were a no 7 seed last year and without bynum why would they have been better than a 7 seed?

I rooted for the Lakers to beat the Jazz, but that is how far I go. The Lakers are one of my most hated teams, and that will never change.
