the 2 names im hearing from this board are Iggy or Butler im just wondering who would the clutchfans rather have??
Iggy....no doubt, but a lot depends upon the overall deal and how it effects the current team and our future prospects. DD
the better player is obvious, but which deal will be better? that's yet to be seen. most of us would want iggy over butler, but iggy and dalembert? that might make people want butler.
The thing is we get Iggy AND our center for the rest of this year WHO IS GOOD ENOUGH TO BE INSURANCE AGAINST A YAO INJURY NEXT YEAR.Dalembert brings what the Rockets need out there ...defense and rebounding. Sam might earn his money. In fact I'll go so far as to say if we do this deal we're contenders NOW. Unless we're getting Paul, Wade, or someone of that ilk , this is it.
You don't know what is and isn't being offered, stop being a Debbie Downer. I am sure you were on the Lakers boards going......"Pau Gasol is not being offered" Sheesh. DD
Iggy I suppose. It doesn't hurt that he's only 25. But I'm not sure either guy is that missing piece. Can this crew, plus Yao and either Iggy or Butler win it all next year? I'm skeptical to support it. But wouldn't count it out. I think we need something else, who? I'm not sure. The league is just packed with talented teams. Boston has names like Sheed, Allen, Garnett and Pierce. LA has Artest, Odom, Kobe, Gasol. I think we need name talent. Unless we get lucky and all those guys on those teams get injured or randomly retire. Could that happen? Nah, this ain't the two years Houston won titles, when some unknown scrub named Jordan was out playing baseball, was fortunate.
Gasol was being offered, the surprise was what they took for him. Where are the reports of iffy being on the block to begin with? A write is paid to write stuff that gets people to read his writing and discuss it, doesnt mean much if that's where it came from. I realize butler is a rumor just as well, but it seems to me the wiz are in a worse position that phillymore desperate, and therefore more likely to include their big names. I dont see philly being in that position. The rumors i've seen, probably even the writer's, are based on Houston contacting philly and asking about Iggy, BUT they will only take more than they give. They're basically calling teams and asking if they want to be raped.
" . . . when picking equal talents. . . pick the taller talent . . " - from the Book of DaDa circa McGrady for Francis Deal Rocket River
I'd like a McGrady + Cook + Taylor for Iggy + Dalembert + Speights. After that, trade Dalembert to a team that needs size (for example, Portland).
After reading this post, I REALLY don't think you should be posting on ClutchFans. Especially after the bolded part.
I'd rather have Butler, but I think Iggy is the better player. Iggy reminds me of a poor man's Scottie Pippen, Not a big scoring threat but can do many other things to impact the game. Although Pippen had a much better jumper and a much more effective jumper I still think Butler would fit in better.
Like most have posted, give me Iggy but if a bad contract has to included to get him then Butler makes way to much sense.
Iggy would look good in Houston. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eKkVzaM-L_k&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eKkVzaM-L_k&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
