It's a little early to be talking playoffs, but it's looking like the first 4 seeds in the West are set.

    Dallas, Phoenix, SA,Utah.

Which team would you rather face in the 1st round? I'm hoping we can get the 5th seed so we will face Utah in the 1st round. I like our chances compared with Dallas, Phoenix or SA.

Of course the argument can be put forth that to win the title, you'd have to eventually face Dallas, Phoenix or SA in the 2nd round and Western finals, but I'd rather worry about them later than sooner.

Ideally I'd want to get the 5th seed and face Utah in the 1st round. Then we get past them rather easily and meet the 1st-seeded Mavericks in the 2nd round. Revenge is ON.

Playoffs is a Battle! Thats how we should approach it.

And in Battle we need to be fearless.

    I say, bring anybody on.

(I know, my perception is mental...with no regards to the physical)

The Spurs!!! I live with a Spurs fan; nothing would be better than giving them an early exit.

i think we can take the jazz.

i think we would make a close series against the spurs and mavs.

i think we would be out quickly vs. the suns.

Not the Suns. either spurs or the Jazz. bonzi and tracy are known spurs killers. however i fear parker on that team more then i do of duncan. i think yao will destroy the Spurs interior, but we have noone to combat Parker. however, without Yao, the spurs would eat us alive. Without yao's interior prescence, duncan will go off on top of Parkers allready looming threat.

IF the Jazz falters through the 2nd half of the season, it might be likely that the rejuvenated Nuggets will overtake them. In that case, I think the Nuggets would be a far better matchup than the Jazz.

If we're going to be champs, I want us to do it the right way and beat all the elites. I wanna meet the Suns in the first round, Spurs the second, and Mavs in the WCF (well okay maybe only two of them will do). Call me crazy but that'll be the only way the critics will know without a doubt that we deserve the title, none of the "Well...if they met the Suns/Mavs/Spurs in the playoff, they would've had an early exit" bull****.

That's what I was thinking. Utah's been faltering and Denver's finally got Anthony back. I think Denver likely wins their division. It doesn't matter in the poll though -- I'd rather play Utah or Denver than any of the powerhouses in the first round.

The Rockets need to get the 5th seed. They take out the Jazz in the 1st without much resistance. Then, I hope Dallas ends up finishing 1st, so we match up with them in the 2nd round. I think the Rockets have a better shot against them than the Suns. If they then beat the Suns or Spurs in the conference finals, it's smooth sailing from there. :D

I'd rather see us take on the Spurs. First of all their aging so there shouldn't be too many surprises/X-factors during the series. Yao dominates their big men and if their forced to put Duncan on him, he gets in foul trouble. Yao has no problems guarding Duncan (if refs don't call the bull**** fouls) and Juwan does ok vs him as well.

They don't push the ball well, so that gives us time to setup in our half-court set of the inside outside game. Utah/Mavs/Suns/Nuggs all have the ability to run us out of the game. Lakers have been doing well just Kobe, so they might be dangerous when Odom comes back.

Honestly I think we just play better vs the Spurs because their so similar to us that JVG makes a better gameplan of the Rox.

    I pick the Suns.

I hope we beat them in 1st round (in 5 or 6 games), so everybody can shut the hell about them.

Their so this, so that, people act like their greatest thing, since chocolate cake.

When was the last time, this team played defense, the end of the last millenium.

We think we could seriously punch this team in the face, if we get Yao back for at least the last 15-20 games and get Bonzi, Snyder back.

I think we could seriously crush the Suns, they're so overrated.

I hope we fall to 7th or 8th seed just to play them....because it would be bittersweet and all of those damn analyst can choke on their own words.

i picked the devil because any of the teams listed can beat us.

we struggle to matchup well with the jazz... whether anyone will admit it or not.

and who in their right mind would pick dallas or SA?

maybe this is the year we beat SA?

I'll play against the Sun. Likely, we'll lose all 3 games in regular season, but I found we are doing better, and games are getting closer and winnable. In the playoff, we'll be more prepared, play with more energy and stronger desire. Sun probably underestimates us, when gets beaten one game, they just collapse on all rest.

It's funny that you should say that.

Suns 3 -1 against the Lakers in regular season.

Remember, how the 1st round of the playoffs played out last year....Suns favored to beat the Lakers, then Lakers take win one game in Phoenix then go up 3 -1 with Kobe hitting a game winner, only to lose in 7 games and coming close to winning in 6.

In the series, Phil Jackson utilized his bigs (Brown, Bynum, Turiaf) to get rebounds, slow-pace of the game down, and force PHX. to shoot outside jumpers. Then later, he could also elect to run & gun with Phoenix once the Lakers had 10 and 15 pts. leads. Something that almost won him the series.
With no inside defense or offense, it inevitably put PHX. down 3-1 to one.

This team is very beatable in the playoffs. Especially with our defense.
