This might be the wrong Forum, but Hakeem is involved... Here is some drunken bar talk for you sports nuts out there. We have always heard people ask who is the top 5 players of all time? or what 5 players comprise the greatest team of all time? Here's a new one: We know that the greatest team ever assembled was the 1992 Olympic squad hailed as the "Dream Team." With a starting five of: Micahel Jordan Magic Johnson Larry Bird Charles Barkley Patrick Ewing If you had to pick a team to go up against the Dream Team in a 5-on-5 game to save the world who would it be? (You can choose from any player in history) Here is my choice: Jerry West - This guy was ClutchCIty back when there was no such thing. Kobe Bryant - I think this guy is the closest thing we will ever get to Michael Jordan in our lifetime. LeBron James - This is my stretch, but he fits in here perfectly! Hakeem Olajuwon - On this board do I really need to explain myself? Shaquille O'neill - His dominance can not be overlooked. Now thats a Squad! Your turn...
Joe Dumars, Oscar Robertson, Sidney Moncrief, Tim Duncan, Hakeem Olajuwon. Not the 5 best players, but the 5 best players to beat those guys.
Isiah Thomas Kobe Bryant Lebron James Tim Duncan Shaq Isiah use to give Magic fits, Kobe would force Jordan to expend too much energy on D, lebron would run circles around Larry (although get schooled right back), TD would just turn around and shoot that little bank J over Chuckster all day, and Shaq would steamroll Patrick like he always did.
bruce lee Mike Tyson Terry Tate some diseased guy who is bleeding all over the place and the dirtiest of them all, Karl Malone
it would have to be: jason kidd-pg tracy mcgrady-sg kevin garnett-sf hakeem olajuwon-pf shag o'neal-c i think that might work.
Dudes... Hakeem is not a power forward.. Assuming all players are in their prime, I'd go with: PG: John Stockton SG: Kobe Bryant (for his defense) SF: Kevin Garnett PF: Tim Duncan C: Wilt Chamberlain
John Stockton > Magic Johnson Kobe Byrant < Michael Jordan Predja Stojakovic < Larry Bird Kevein Garnett > Charles Barkley Hakeem Hakeem Olajuwon > Patrick Ewing
Oscar Robertson Julius Earving Bill Russell <- I think he has the speed to cover Larry Bird Tim Duncan Wilt Chamberlain Great defensive team with scoring from the big guys in the paint and both guards. Russell's offensive problems are not a big deal with four such great offensive players. Only problem is Free Throw Shooting from the 3-5 positions. The other team might never get a rebound.
Damn dude, Jordan only retired 2 seasons ago. I think Michael Jordan is the closest thing we'll ever get to MJ in this lifetime.
I'm surprised nobody has said Yao yet... Kidd - distributor extraordinare Clyde - just cant bring myself to say Kobe, clyde is right there Garnett - wanted robertson, but the kid is that good McHale - sir charles says he's the best Hakeem - dont even need to explain
1. KOBE 2. KG 3. Hakeem 4. TD 5 SHAQ domination... just play all 7 footers. In international ball u can take it off the rim. No one would ever score.
LeBron James to play Larry Bird? Bad idea. He could beat Larry off the dribble, but look at the help defense on that team... Oh and if LeBron has to guard Bird, he'd go for 50. I'd go: Robertson Bryant (although I hate to pick him for anything) Garnett Duncan Olajuwon Robertson would give Magic problems defensively, and he's reasonably sized as a point guard. Kobe has a couple of inches on Jordan, and is a decent defender. Garnett has the length and the footspeed to trouble Bird. Duncan is too big for the Chuckster to guard, and is a strong interior defender. Hakeem we know could play Ewing one-on-one. And I don't think the dream team could afford to double this matchup.
Kidd Dr J Garnett Duncan Olajuwon i will never put stockton in my team HAYJON02 bad idea to put pippen on your list, he isn't the most loved exrocket
