Bonzi, much like the rest of the Rockets, started out the season well. Then he slumped just like the rest of the Rockets. He had a good game against the Kings last time out with 8 points, 10 rebs, and 2 steals in 27 or 28 mins. He wasn't being utilized well by the Rockets in that game either. He had Kevin Martin on him in the second half for a while and the Rockets didn't go to Bonzi in the post. He instead floated around the perimeter and this was without Yao in the game.

The playoffs are all about matchups and Bonzi creates matchup problems for the opposing team (one team in particular). It's definitely a positive to have a player of his caliber for such a cheap price on this team. As long as he pays dividends during the playoffs, I can live with his inconsistent performances in the regular season.

I think we need him to be productive to make real noise in the playoffs.

Francis looks like he is going to give us some Franchise-lite and that will be a big boost. I also believe James will round into his old form but only having one, real, full sized SG (Tmac) is going to kill us. Either Bonzi needs to turn the clock back a few years or Snyder needs to get his hands on a new brain. Obviously, Bonzi is the better bet.

we ve been b****ing about jvg all along. but i guess he was right. We rant about him. But he was right on a lot of things, using yao at low post, the way he played head. the way he create a starting line-up from a crappy group of players that was the best starting 5 in the nba, the way he didn't play much of bonzi wells, stro swift. I mean looking back, he is right on many things we rant about.

bonzi just needs to get in a rhythm. its hard for him not knowing when youre getting in the game. hes sometimes the 6th man or the 8th man.

Wow, another Bonzi hating thread from you, and you seem to be the only one making threads about him. I'm going to guess you have some sort of personal beef with him.

Bonzi hating, well considering how well he started and how he's dissappeared I think a little reflection might be warranted

Comparing his numbers from last year to this year means little to me. Last year he was so fat and slow it made sense he couldn't anything right. This year he's slimmer, more agile and (usually) picking the right spots offensively. He's been posting up, driving and attacking he just can't finish or make a layup to save his life this year.

It's gotten to the point where i'm surprised somebody on here hasn't created some sort of "Bonzi Layup Index" or something to count how many layups he misses a game. That would be a fun stat to keep track of.

But anyways, he's always been a high percentage shooter. He's always had nice touch around the basket. He's a unique player. There aren't many guards that can push people around and essentially play like 6'5" PF's the way he can. He's worth keeping around, IMO. For $2.2 million you could do a lot worse.

    aint that the truth!

Damn JVGs structured ways and focus on defense...its making the players too tired to make their shots!

Sigh, if only Bonzi could bring it every night like he did against the Spurs the first time we played them.

Upon review, 18 games have passed on and still have guard issues on the team. Morey should have a trade in works and it should be by the end of this month(I just have a feeling/If things don't improve by the end of the month)

All it proves is that sometimes coaches are not as smart as fans.
