With the season almost 1/3 over, the West is looking pretty tough again. Obviously the Lakers are going to make it, unless Kobe gets injured. Thats leaves 7 spots left, and 8 other teams all within a game or two of eachother. Hornets 15-7 Houston 16-9 SA 15-9 Dallas 14-10 Phoenix 15-10 Portland 16-10 Utah 16-11 Denver 17-8 Guesses? I think either Portland or Phoenix wont make it. But since you can only vote for 1, I'm going with Phoenix. On another note, the West's 9th team (Dallas 14-10) has pretty much the same record as the East's 5th team (Detroit 14-9). Appearntly, the NBA is similar to Fox News (Fair and Balanced) lol.
I voted for Portland. I think they'll fade again this year. Suns would be my next pick. They've got alot of turmoil, but the Richardson pickup was a really good one.
From the standing of West as of now,I guess either Dallas or Utah won't make the playoffs.B-u-t,in the long run,I think either Phoenix or Dallas won't make it . P.S. Wow,who the hell cast his vote on Houston?
Whoever voted for Houston needs to be punched! Boozer has been out for 15 games, which is why their record is sucking a bit, but once he is back they should make the playoffs for sure. I'd love to see Dallas not make it, but I'd love more to sweep Dallas in the first round, so I can rub it in all my Dallas fan's faces!
Exactly what I want for years,we matched up with Utah for the last 2 years, but the loss in that serious to Dallas in 05 still stings in my heart like a twinge every time I watch the vids from that series. But if they even cannot make the playoffs, that will be a shame for em as they just won 67 games in the reg season 2 years back. How quick they're fading out of the phase.LOL@Dallas.
I have to say Portland. Would have gone with Phoenix, but they have J-Rich now and are formidable, to say at the least.
I think Portland will miss it as much as I'd like to see them make it. Their only remedy is a proven veteran/winner to provide some guidance when the going gets real tough in the second half of the season. I think a Shane Battier would do Portland wonders. Incoming: Joel Pryzbilla + filler Outgoing: Shane Battier + filler
I think it would go down to Portland and Denver. I didn't think Denver would be playing this well but Chauncey Billups has been a great acquisition for them. Potrland has a lot of injuries and are inexperienced.
There was a similar thread in NBA Dish a couple of weeks ago and I voted for Phoenix, but with JRich I think that will give them enough to make it. That narrows it down IMO to Dallas, Denver and Portland. I really hope it's Dallas cause that would shut them up for a while even though it would be sweet if we beat the crap out of them in the playoffs. BTW how the hell did 6 people vote for the Rockets? I understand the one guy who did it by accident, but did 6 of yall mess up too.
Agreed. Why do more people on a Rockets board think SA, Denver and UTAH have a better chance of making it than we do? That's just messed up.
clutch needs to find those 12 people who voted on rockets and kick them off this board. We don't need trolls. I think Dallas and Portland would be two teams that will be hanging at 8 and 9. everything standard, unless injury bugs strikes. Hornets - no way, one reason CP3 Houston - no way, our bench is too deep SA the champ is not going anywhere Dallas - can we say Kidd u screwed this up! oh and I don't think cuban would even notice as he is too busy with his legal problem. Phoenix that trade saved them, they are now back to run and gun. Portland - still too young and inexpericed. if they do make it to playoffs, every team would love to play them. Utah sloan will not let boozer opting out effect his team beside they got a good backup in paul. Denver again that trade saved them.
i was thinking portland and phoenix.. went with phoenix.. i'm not sure if the latest trade will hurt or help them in the long run... portland's young but they play really well together...
