I thought the magic got completely ripped off. Instead they ended up the best player in the trade not named Howard. Weird how things sometimes turn out.
As soon as Dwight left the Lakers, the Magic won the trade by default. But of course, they ended up with some fantastic players
Well considering all 4 teams will be lottery bound for the 2nd straight season, I'll have to say none of them won. All lost. Orlando has the last remaining piece worth something though.
The Lakers traded a guy who's out of the league and a first round pick for Dwight Howard. They won the trade, but screwed it up by not trying to make it work out.
And I quote "The Lakers will send All-Star center Andrew Bynum to the Philadelphia 76ers, who also will receive shooting guard Jason Richardson from the Magic. The Sixers will send guard Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets. The Magic will receive Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, rookie swingman Moe Harkless, forward Josh McRoberts, forward Christian Eyenga, a first-round pick from either the Nuggets or the New York Knicks in 2014, a protected first-round pick from the Sixers, a protected first-round pick from the Lakers in 2017, a second-round pick from the Nuggets in 2013 and a conditional second-rounder from the Lakers in 2015. In addition to Howard, the Lakers will also receive Earl Clark and Chris Duhon from the Magic."
The great thing about a trade like this is even if the pieces you get don't work out it gives your team clarity and ability to rebuild.
They all lost, but if Dwight stayed than the Lakers would have won because that got Howard for pretty much nothing.
