How will the Rocks have a rivalry with?? Who will the Rockets have an intense rivalry with? Dallas Mavericks San Antonio Spurs L.A Lakers L.A Clippers Minnesota Timberwolfes Toronto Raptors N.Y Knicks Utah Jazz Seatle Supersonics Memphis Grizzlies
The Rockets should have good rivalries with the Mavs, Suns, Magic and Clippers for the next few years.
The Mavs... It's already a good matchup now but in a couple years, we'll be around their level and things will get very competitive.
Who ever thought the Mavs and Stars would take seats ahead of the Cowchumps? Now maybe the joke will be... Why is there a hole in the roof at Texas Stadium? Not so that God can watch His team, but to let the stench seep out.
There's a whole lot of truth to that. For the past couple of years, the Rox and Nugs have had pretty close games. I still remember that 3 Raef made, when he was clearly stepping out of bounds. We were robbed!! BTW Nugzfan....you have some pretty intense fans at the Pepsi Center. I go to the Nuggets/Rockets game each year and meet some diehard Nugget fans. Cod
What exactly is the question? Who will the Rockets have an intense rivalry with int he near future? In the distant future? Next season? Won't the same teams that the Rockets had an intense rivalry with last season be the same teams we have an intense rivalry with this season?
the title of the the thread is HOW will the Rocks have a rivalry with? and i am so baffled and confused i cannot answer.
definitely the Clippers, we are going to need to start some rivalry with them as a motivation to BEAT them, cause they own us!!!!!!!!!!
are you from CO? im not - ive never even been to the pepsi center. i plan on going sometime soon though.
I voted Mavs. Neither team will stop each other, the hope hear is becomes like the Lakers-Celts where the last team with the ball will tend to win. It will take a while before we can take on the Lakers or Kings, our middle is ready. The Spurs will be interesting and the match-ups will be a lot closer next year (our guards will kill theirs but not enough yet to compensate for Duncan versus our interior D), but I suspect it will just not be as exciting as with the Mavs. I think the Nugs have a big time battle brewing with the Gizzards. No, I am just kidding, the McNuggets are far superior. But the Nugs-Clips and Nugs-GS look like pretty fair close battles.
As a long time Rox fan I know my adrenline gets flowing for games with Seattle. It's just the history of the match-up. I used to hate George Karl thinking he was cheating playing a zone defense. Following the Sonics in my all-time hate list is Utah followed by the Suns. I seem to have an affinity for the Lakers even though they are usually in the Rocket's way. Their history of having the games greatest players and most memorable championship series commands respect. Your rivals have got to be in your own conference though ;once you get to the finals win or lose you'ved had a great year.
