As we are in search for a good coach to lead us once again, who do you think among our possible coaches would still use the Steve-Cat duo? Brown? Van Gundy? Dunleavy? or who among them would break this tandem apart (bye bye Cat!) ? I'm just curious...

Only coach who will let Cat and Steve play as stupid as they do is Rudy T. The new coach will either break them apart or ride them hard and change the way they play.

Probably none of them. All of the available coaches are bigger fans of Cuttino than the people of Houston.

Non of these Coaches will go through the national criticism of the misuse of Yao Ming. They will prevent it by changing their Games or Trading. It might take another season of much of the same before a decission is made,so be prepared.

brown and van gundy are defencive coaches.

cat is the best defencive player on the team. niether coach will trade him. don't forget that brown had a front row seat to both games that cat locked down AI.

Ina Jeff van Gundy offensive system, Francis and Cat's one-on-one style would be beneficial.

However, in all other cases, I hope they'll be broken up. At the very least, move Cat to the backup 2, and bring in a PG.

If brown is our new coach, we should keep Cat. His D (and Cato's) will be just amazing under Larry Brown because he'll light a fire under their a$$es.

I agree, with a new coach in place, they should get one more season to prove they are the "great backcourt" they're supposed to be.

smoothie this is very significant and is a very important consideration in Cats favour!
I just hope both of our Guards do what they are
told to do by the Coaches. Then we might see changes!

Let's keep the guards for a year, but try to trade for a PF that can play some D (Brian Grant?).

Cat cannot play game-to-game defense at 41mpg. We need a 3rd guard to make Steve-Cat work.

Imagine what we could do to the great SGs in the league to make them guard Steve sometimes, and tag team that with moving in Mobley to D up, while he still applies significant offensive pressure. The opposing SG would never get a rest.

This doesn't work with a bench of Moochie and Juaquin. We need a 3rd guard.

Further, a 3 guard lineup coming off the bench is not a bad thing when you can field Nash, Finley and Van Exel, and they don't even have the frontcourt defensive potential of the Rox.

You get a solid vet PG or solid SG with playmaking skills, then Guard-X, Francis, Mobley can really make teams work hard to defend them making things easier for Yao, in both rotational subbing strategies and putting all 3 on the court together.

Trading in your strength is one way to approach things, while tweaking that strength with a 3rd guard is another. Besides, no matter how you slice it, we need a total of 3 guards. Is Posey a swingman??? imo, he isn't until Nachbar shows up. Posey currently has his hands full just playing the 3.

With the 3, im satisfied with the rotation of Posey,Nachbar and Morris. Ur ryt, we need a dpendable 3rd SG to make the duo more effective..
