I know the Western conference dominance is somewhat diminished but noone can question which is still the stronger league. I know Steve had some aprehensions initially about5 the move but I feel that team will be very competitive next year and while the Rox are most certainly getting the best player I see the move as a lateral or maybe a bacwards one in the immediate present. Let's face it, TMAC has not won in the league yet and reminds me alot of the situation with Dominique Wilkins throughout his career, great player but for whatever reason never on a winning team.

The only reason I think the Magic will have a better record is that they have their roster (team) in place and even a deeper bench. (since the former starters could be moved to the bench)

    SF3 / JNelson
    Cat / whoever
    Ghill (maybe)
    DHoward / Gooden
    Cato / Hunter?

thats a pretty solid team and they could even start Gooden at C if they need more scoring punch.

    We have

    PG? unknown
    Tmac / Pike
    JJ (hopefully Boki)
    JHoward / MoT
    Yao

we have some pretty big holes in our lineup (especially the PG) we dont even have one NBA starter level player. JJ would be more suited coming off the bench, Yao doesnt have anyone backing him up (and you know he doesnt have the endurance to play big minutes)

I think once we fill in the holes with some good role players we will be good but for now im worried about who will fill in the gaps.

    J

so I give the edge to the Magic for now for having 3 players used to playing together and more depth and no obvious holes. They may be the team to watch in the beginning of the season since SF3/Cat/Cato are gonna want to prove to everyone and their mother that the Rox traded the wrong people.
