The Kelvin Cato Era is already near its end, so I was wondering who guys think will be the Rockets' starting center in the next 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 years. Personally, I'm hoping that Eddie will grow another inch or two and put on some weight in the near future. I'd also like to see the Rockets clear enough cap space to make a run at Jermaine O'Neal when he goes on the market in 2003.
Future center? Since Cato is virtually untradeable and since I do not follow college hoops until March Madness, I'll ask you.....who'll be available with next years 13th pick?
I'm hoping that everybody's prophecy of Griffin growing an inch or two happens b/c he would be the perfect center on this team. Even if he doesnt grow the extra inch or two, he is most likely 6'10 right now, with long arms, and great athletecism... it's not mandatory that he grow 2 inches but it would a great bonus. We already have our future sf's in morris/langhi, and our pf's in kenny/mo, so the best place to insert Griff would be at the center slot. If anything, he can be a power forward that plays center, which is basically what many teams will most likely end up doing due to the lack of centers in the league. I think in the end, Griffin WILL become our future center, whether he grows or not, simply b/c this guy has the raw talent, shot blocking, rebounding that we need from the center.
Cato's era began and ended with that preseason game years ago. You just know that Les, CD, Rudy are kicking themselves in the ass for giving that big oaf so much money. I'll be suprised if Cato can find a job in the NBA once his contract is over.
Come on Pimp, do you really think Cato himself is going to be looking for a job? He is going to have $43,000,000!!!!!!!!!! After his seven years our up, he is going to the Bahamas and probably will buy a small island. A big ass mansion and hotties serving his lazy ass! Man this world is not fair! All of that for CATO!!!!!!
Chris Marcus will be our Center Of The Future. He's big rebounding center & Rockets MUST make a run for him next draft.
