Out of these incredible men, who was the greatest rockabilly outlaw? The ideal rebel, the voice of lawbreaking, the biggest influence on music of yester year and today? These are some good pics of them too.... Johnny Cash Jerry Lee Lewis Waylon Jennings Elvis Presley Carl Perkins Willie Nelson
Well for bizzare, your just not gonna beat the life lived by The Killah. Look it up , he's married his 13 year old cousin, had 3 wives die from questionable circumstances and lives the counterpart to his psuedo-rightous cousin Jimmy Swaggert. They are a whole ying and yang universe unto themselves.
I voted Carl Perkins because I know some Rockabilly ****. Not Country, Rockabilly! Not Nashville, Memphis!
I voted Perkins too. Yeah, I dont consider Jennings / Nelson Rockabilly. Cash was rb, but I dont think as much as Perkins, Charlie Feathers, Bill Haley, Link Wray etc. Cash was more his own thing.
I love all the guys mentioned --- and have CD's for each of them. Cash is the flavor of the month Elvis changed music forever and more than that changed american culture
Elvis was a hack with a gimmick. He never wrote a song in his life. To call him talented is to put him on par with the talent level of, say, Jessica Simpson.
This all depends on the definition of greatest Most popular Most talented Biggest influence on music Biggest infuence on America in general biggest bad a$$ each of these may have a different answer
agreed elvis is one of the most overrated artists in american history. elvis just coppied what black rock&roll and blues artists were doing for YEARS before him and made it popular to the white masses. and he gets credit for being an innovator or a rebel.....he was a good singer but didn't write a lot of his songs and wasn't nearly as good as say little richard, chuck berry, or bo diddley.
