Both Asia and America had great songs, but I think America has more classics that has stuck around longer.
I was reading Neil Young's biography a while back and when "A Horse With No Name" hit #1 on the pop charts, Neil's dad called him to congratulate him on having the #1 song, LOL!
Eurasia But even more intriguing is what is the best song named after a continent? I'm going Diamond's "we're coming to America".....Today!!
Blame this thread on the guy down the hall from me - he loves stupid stuff like this; gave me the inspiration.
I want to vote Europe for Final Countdown which I would not appreciate if not for the Arrested Development reference. But I genuinely do like Horse w/ No Name. Not to mention there is one scene in Newsradio where the office catches a recording of Dave singing that song in his recorder. America ftw. USA! USA! USA! Don't be a terrorist, it's got to be America.
America is two continents and should be voided from this conversation. PS...US won't get the 2018 WC.
For some reason I get Asia and Toto mixed up. I was thinking Asia sang "Africa", but they don't. I guess Asia has "Heat of the Moment" and maybe another hit or so. I have to put "Heat" above "Countdown", I think.
