@ the age of 38? I would say 40 but Hakeem retired at 39 which happened to be Mutombos worst year so I chose the best year he had as a Rocket.

If you look in the forum rules I think it's illegal for Hakeem NOT to win a poll here (assuming it's a who's better poll)...

    My thoughts exactly.

Same reason Hakeem is running away with the poll. This is very arguable, and personally I voted for Mutombo.

Sorry, but you are an idiot. You'll never see this post though, because you apparently don't READ poll threads, you just vote on them because you think you know what they're asking.

by the time dream had retired he lost a lot of what he was. mutombo on the other hand seemed like a youngster his first season here and again of course this season.

dream is obviously the better player but at age 38 i'll go with mutombo.

As much as I love Mutombo, he isn't even in the same league as Dream. Dream was fast, had footwork, could score on anyone AND was a premeir defender.

As much as I love Dream I gotta go with Deke.

    It takes 5.

Dream always had the talent around him. Deke was consistently on garbage teams. Look what happened in 01 with A I that proved he can do anything he wants to bad he wasnt on teams like that troughout his career.

Imagine if he ever had a supporting cast

But just on a pure talent level you gotta take Deke I mean look at him now!

    ;)

i voted for Dream, but it's close.

Dream could do it a little more consistently at this age.. though Deke was really solid that year too. Very close. Dream wins on reputation.

hmmm. it's much closer than i thought. points and blocks are similar. deke get 4 more rebounds which is huge, but dream gets 2 steals and 2 assists. i think it's a tie

I actually think Deke is a better man-to-man shot blocker than Dream was.

Blasphemy.. Hakeem could come out of retirement leave his Armani suit on, put some nike's on and school Mutombo all day long. I love Mutombo, but Hakeem is and always will be King Rocket.

And this is a stupid thread by the way. Next you'll be polling who is better at 49 Larry Bird or Magic. What diference does it make at the end of there careers. Your legacy is based on your best and Hakeems best is arguably the best ever at his spot. What he does after that is just the end of the story. Hakeem could have absolutely been a role player for a few years longer and done the job that Mutombo is doing but he had enough. Enough money enough basketball and enough of the NBA life. STOP with the stupid comparisons.

Badly worded poll - you need to put that in the question.

Anyway, at 38, clearly Mutombo. Hakeem was broken down and couldn't do much at all. But it's kinda of a silly comparison.
